To the person, whether moderator or normal member, who gave me negative rep telling me I should drop my attitude in the immortality thread... well I just have something to say to you....

Rep pretty much means nothing. Your reaction is what matters in this case.

 

Okay, then how would you like it if I were to just give you negative rep for pretty much no reason which this person has done to me. And continue doing so over the course of maybe like 2 weeks until your rep goes down in the negative?

 

A one time negative rep for something you disagree with is perfectly acceptable.

Continued rep down, to anyone, for one singular reason, is subject to punitive measures.

So, go right ahead. You can -rep me if you disagree with my actions. However, abuse of the system - for anyone - is intolerable.

 

He might just ban you out of spite. Or maybe he would take the smart route and ask a person with authority to take a look at what happened versus taking a confrontational approach. Whcih sounds smarter to you?

EDIT: What Fenix quoted is the official stance on the matter. Unoficially some mods will take a look just out of curiosity. The key is finding the right one.

 

I wouldn't ban out of spite, no sir. I'd use my broad definition of Rule 11 and temp, prolly for 24h, for mouthing off.

 

Banning me out of spite will just prove him to be an ill tempered moderator on a power trip, he's the one who started the comfrontation between me and him, I was just delivering a message ... unless fenix was the one who originally -rep me haha. Also, I wanted to add that this is space junk section, no posts here are meant to be taken that seriously, right? Sorry, mr. fenix.

 

He wasn't. Though after taking a look at the original post and reason, while it probably wasn't warranted for that particular post I have seen enough of your posts, to understand the thought process behind. More importantly though, your reaction so far is justifying it more than anything else. Also, it apparently got you another negative (not from me or Fenix, though I must say I considered it) on top of the original one. Care to continue pressing your luck?

 

I pretty much ignore the rep system for the most part, as if I want to show my disapproval of a user's actions of posts, I'm a tad more...vocal.

'Twas not my intent to incite a conflict, far from. I was warning you that this could be considered retaliation to a -rep, which is uncool. If I recall correctly, you're the one who accused me of a power trip and told me to 'bugger off.'

 

I thought it was kind of humorous at first, but it was your words in the first post after mine that set me off. You started it all by treating me as if I was something you have power over, my comments to you are justified. If you read my introduction thread, you'll know that I dislike authoritans exercising their authority in ill mannerly ways. So if you have any further complaints please direct your attention to the photo in my first post.

Well he kinda does have power over you, that's what being a mod means. In fact he has power over everyone besides his fellow mods and authority to use said power to prevent disruptions. In this case I would say he was using the threat of said power to make sure you realized that being confrontational like you were in your original post is a bad idea, which it is. Any questions?

Also, my discontent for anyone who believes they have power over me is just how I am, and if you don't like it then it is your problem not mine.
