Lets see here Aborition, the Death Penalty, Net Neutrality, Gay Marriage... And that's just off the top of my head do you have anything more specific than a controversial topic?
Well, the goal is to entertain the reader to keep him interested. Thats kind of how these papers are getting rated, so what I'm trying to do is find something thats gonna stir up something in the reader. Whether it be aggravation toward some made up opinion on a particular subject, or if its simply a subject thats ridiculous in its own right. Although I might write something on serial killers since its halloween, and thats usually something that gets people interested as long as you pick one with a particularly long and brutal track record.
Well, if your into music. Have a read of "The Future of Music" by David Kusek and Gerg Leohard. You can whip up an awesome....yet entertaining read.
I need to find something thats gonna piss the reader off so much hes going to wonna keep reading. Like those opinions you hear that you just think "Wow... Is this guy serious?" you know like erduken in the gay marrage topic what something like that i can make an essay about?
You could go the simple religous nut angle, rant on whatever topic comes to mind from a crazy religous point of view maybe even multiple topics. * Disclaimer I am not saying any given religous person is crazy or any religion is crazy, but there people who take there religion to far and that is the point of view I am suggesting writing from *
How about writing about the fact that the bio-industry produces about the same amount of greenhouse gasses then all cars combined? And the massive amount of food that gets thrown away? And that a cow that needs to gain a pound has to eat four pounds, while insects gain weight at an almost 1:1 ratio? A bet that writing a paper where you point out that eating bugs to solve global warming woul qualify as pissing people off. Especially since it's just true.
Rant that Obama/Bush is the anti-Christ or even Christ reborn. If you get enough 'evidence' it could work...
Abortion, death penalty etc is kind of boring. It has been done to death. Targeting fundies is also boring since any sane individual will agree with you anyway. I've done paper dissing affirmative action which was pretty sucessful. Just please, do not pick any enviromental topic.
So far i like the calling obama the anti christ. What if I did one thats against gay marriage? Or pro slavery in all countries cept america?
If you manage to construct an argument against gay marrige without the appeal to religion or feelings, youe a freaking genious and you have to make a paper about it. Otherwise its going to be the same old crap again hardly controversial. Obama the anti-christ is just getting into the fundie ranting category. I thought you still want to keep up the rational outlook.
I think it's pretty boring to read an argumentation about things that I already know much about, and already have an opinion in. Try to take something that peple haven't heard about, like an issue that isn't getting the amount of attention it should have. Not that I have an example atm, but keep it in mind
