just a fun topic. you need to know i'm a HUGE fan of The Wheel of time, and most of all, Aes Sedai (my fav's are Moiraine Damodred and Suian Sanche) if you know the Wheel of time... you know what i mean with Aes Sedai, if you don't... euhm... just ask me... its a whole lot.... and believe me... i can keep talking about it for AGES!!! (>.< just captured by that friggin book.... i simply wish Aes Sedai were real... and that i could channel ofc ^^) this topic is about, what if Aes Sedai were real. if such sort of magic existed, what effects would it have on the world. is it simply possible, in a logic way, that Aes Sedai still could exist. in some kind of Hogwards (but then White tower) and a magical world where all Aes Sedai live. is this possible to create with the One power?? would we notice it? how would an Aes Seai on trip look like?(Aes Sedai have a very distinct "ageless" look, so... how would an Aes Sedai look in the real world? (when they walk around, beeing ageless.... wearing their ring... any crazy Wot fan like me would notice)) >.< say it, i'm crazy.... of Aes Sedai hahaha (but I'M crazy, wathever you say)
And along with this, what about the Asha'man? Since there are no records of men surviving the madness for long, how would the extended use of the One Power effect them?
Aurora, you would LOVE Wheel of Time. You might not wanna read the thread though, might be major spoilers. Arven, have you read the last couple books? I don't wanna give anything away.
The first book is called The Eye of the World. It's good. You can find it at most libraries and at every online retailer. The series pretty much gets insanely awesome at the third book, and goes beyond awesome by the sixth. The ninth is epic, the tenth was ok, and the eleventh is quite possibly the best book I've ever read. The twelfth is being written. Post-humously as it were.
Robert Jordan (may he rest in peace) when he wrote this series did a superb job. Not only did he make it a diverse and thought out universe he managed to rally it into 11 amazing books and a few other prequels. I recommend maybe reading them before TEoTW. As for the Aes Sedai and the Ash'man. Well really I don't see why you are wanting us to choose between. Couldn't we just have both of them? I would have to say that between them the sense of power is really the same. I rate this series in my own field of vision with Tolkien Lord of the Rings, G.R.R Martin A Song of Fire and Ice and Stephen King's Dark Tower Series. So yeah I enjoyed it immensely.
me2! i'm a girl so... i'll be Aes Sedai. but idd, i had to post this threat could contain spoilers! >.< sorry! just a little bit offtopic,(a LITTLE bit) a boy at school, he LOVES lotr, Fantasy books etc. but he simply doesn't want to read Wheel of time (because its so big maby???) i told him to read New spring, because its short, a great book, and he doesn't freak out anymore if we start talking about Aes Sedai (thinking about a way... HOW our teachers secretly could be Aes Sedai, in an undercover White tower. unfortunately... it has to many glitches to say there's a minimum chance it COULD be real (just logic view)) so.... i hoped.... that everybody on the forum could help. just because i can't make anything of the heap of wool in my head (lol, woolhead ^^ just joking ) and, how would a not completley nuts reader of Wot react if anyone told him/her that he/she could channel... not spoken about the >.< rules in the white tower (however.... i would prefer to be Novice, Damane wouldn't be to much fun... and at the Aiel...neither, Novice is the best option, suddenly the White tower would look like a paradise) and how would YOU react, (react... incorrect... i know it... >.<) if somebody told you that... i think that i would almost faint, just because i'd never believe it... and some sort of "magic" doesn't exist.... but still... i think it would be fun... for a while... but really, that boy sais that everybody on the internet places good comments about a book/song/anything because otherwise they get bullied and everybody get angry >.< omg i don't understand boys or men.... hehe pretty much like Nynaeve, i don't have any kind of tail btw >.< ouch long post, sorry!

Your cheerful optimism and blossoming approach to creativity is a welcome addition to the forums. Yes im sure many of us would like to do that to a colleague!
yh. i made up a totally crazy idea that all the teachers are Aes Sedai(and Asha'man) it has many many holes but its funny to think about ^^
