Ahhhh....Swine Flu

Well, I guess we've been due for a good microrganic scare for a while. So tell me, how's it holding up where all of you live? Anyone freaked out yet like a few people here in California?

 

2 people have contracted the flu where i live..

scary stuff man.. scary stuff..

though i think its kinda funny people are kinda treating it like a joke.

 

4 people here I believe.

 

I've got it...jk no one here has it, well at least not to my knowledge, but the adults/mostly the teachers are freaking out about it.

 

1 person here. Just go to the hospital if you get a fever... just be safe and clean

 

You should freak out. That stuff kills people.

Nearest from me -Netherlands- is Great-Brittain and northern France. Less then 100 kilomiters. I will be staying indoors as much as possible for now.

 

An epidemic to me is one of the worse things to happen because I am not a very hygienic person when it some to my hands....

 

Nothing yet in Seattle, but I think we are relatively safe here... although... who knows, right? Its all coming so fast :s

@ Aurora: I haven't heard anything related to swine flu in Europe. Is there something bad coming to Europe too?

 

How did this all start....did someone do the nasty with a pig or something?

 

So, I woke up feeling ill this morning.

I think there's been 1 reported next to the state im in, but no other cases in any surrounding state. I'm not too worried as no one in the US has been reported to die from it yet.

 

I need to move to Madagascar before they close the port.

 

IT's not a epidemic, it's a pandemic. The world health organization has classified it as a class four pandemic. Class four because they say it's contained in one country right now. As far as the experts can tell the swine flu is only in mexico and people who have it in the US came form mexico. There are a total of six classes more classes. Current;y in the USA there is60 confirmed cases and a bunch of unconfirmed. Like here in North Carolina, there are three-six unconfirmed cases. I don't think there is a need to get alarmed though. When people get alarmed, they do stupid things. Stupid things will help it spread.

 

One person in the next town over is getting tested for it I think.

I'm not too worried. It's spreading fast yeah, but I think that it might be overly hyped. At least its not something like Ebola or SARS. That stuff would be freaky as hell.

If more people start getting tested nearby though, guess that means I'm gettin me a gas mask.

I also find it kinda ironic how SWINE flu is in Israel.

 

people really panic because currently about 3500 people die form the flu a year. So with the swine flu they are getting things a little confused.

 

No, the reason they're freaking out is cause there's no cure, and, worse, no vaccine.

Ahnold (Governor of California for those who don't know) has declared a State of Emergency. Now, I think he's overreacting (There's 13 confirmed cases in Cali thus far), but I'm sure the state health administration recommended it to him.

 

Apparently...people from Mexico came to Australia...now everyone is freakin out.

 

A class brought it here (New Zealand) from a field trip in Mexico, shouldn't have left the north island yet though...
