Airsoft weapons shoot plastic little pellets, while paintball weapons shoot hollow plastic pellets, filled with paint.
    Pain(t)ball hurts a lot more. ;D

The paint is thin and water soluble, it's mostly to show you got hit. And if you're not wearing armor, you deserve painted clothes (And the huge welts you'll have)

I have two Uzi style AS guns. I go Matrix a lot.

I've got a Tokyo Mauri FAMAS replica. Haven't used it in a while, though. Maybe I'll bring it out tomorrow..

Never played myself, but my friend used to play every other weekend and occasionally at bigger games with hundreds of participants. It just freaks me out that he has a Western Arms Infinity with every imaginable custom part and in the end it cost him like 1000 euros. You can get a real gun with that money. On top of that he has other rather expensive rifles, camo-suits and such.

My thoughts on the sport itself are quite ambiguous. On the one hand it's good that people go out and have a little exercise rather than cramping their fingers with WASD all day, but on the other it might promote wrong values especially among younger players. Then again there's propably nothing they wouldn't learn from the military service (which is compulsory in Finland).

Well, I am addicted to paintball, it is a pretty expensive activity, but fortunately I know the guys who operate the paintball course near here, so I usually come out cheaper.. :)
I never wanted to buy myself a gun, but now that I think of it, it may worth the cost.
