I'm working on a PowerPoint slideshow for an English class.

What comes to mind when I say 'nuclear'?

You can be as vague or specific as you like. You can even just post a picture if you want.

Loverboy, I think that's the best response I've ever seen out of you.

    *Slow applause*

Whatever you do, and this goes to future posters as well, do not say or post a picture of Homer Simpson.

To be honest, after getting past all the thoughts of danger, war and bombs that are at the forefront of anyone's mind when someone simply says 'nuclear', I tend to think of nuclear energy. It's extremely efficient, produces a lot of power, is a relatively clean form of energy, only producing a small amount of solid waste, there are hundreds of them all around the world, and there has only, really, been one major incident relating to them, being of course Chernobyl (sp?), and I could just keep typing and typing about what that went wrong there, which was everything, so I'll only briefly mention that they had no containment building, and were experimenting in removing the cooling rods from the reactor, which was poorly managed, poorly executed, poorly supervised and poorly thought out, when Murphy's Law decided to pop around for a chat.

    Gah.

This is actually what my paper is actually ON. I'm just doing a presentation, this is to see what people think of nuclear. I'm gonna ask my class the same thing.

    Electricity, nuclear engines.
There are weapons that are way more dangerous then a nuke. Like a simple gun. Countries do not dare attacking each other with nukes, because they know they will both get destroyed. -other countries can fire back before the nuke hits them- I really cannot see any danger in it anymore.

I'm not even playing the game and I'm the only one here who thought "launch detected" as first thing?
