Update your computer change the clock on your computer to April 2nd do what you must just keep yourself safe. Its supposed to be a very dangerous one. Microsoft is offering a reward for the maker. Made the news its like Confucious C or something. But its very dangerous so keep aware.
Well I already said it on another thread but I worry about people's protection so I'll say it again on this thread. Companies that make firewalls and spy ware protectors don't know what it does because it hasn't been programmed to do anything. It's been programmed to spread and wait for the rest of the code of what to do. For all we know it could simple make your printer print a smiley face. Sorry for the multi post but I'm taking this seriously and not like a joke. So all should be warned in my opinion.
It's already April 1st for me... has been for about 12 hours and 47 minutes... I see no harm... But if it was me with the virus I'd make it overclock your graphics cards and cpus by a whole lot to burn them out
Mr. Sodium posted this link ,http://mtc.sri.com/Conficker/addendumC/index.html, and I have to wonder after reading it, does this mean that Conflicker only effects Windows XP and below?
Lol! Confucius C? It's Conflicker or was is Conficker? Anyways, if you have the worm, on April 1st, a code will be sent out to activate the worm and to possibly take control of your computer. HEY! why is this space junk??
because the guy that made this post put it here rather then putting it in the computer section like mine. i don't really care where it is as long as people are informed. I may be a douche most of the time but i have my moments where i feel people should be protected and warned.
Duh. You could have expected that. If they are able to locate and reverse-engineer a virus, and then discover that it waits for instructions or something... Pretty obvious that it would have to be programmed to open a port and connect to a server somewhere to get to the rest of the virus. The maker would be exposed right away. So: any person with any level of computer programming experience could have known this was bs right away. News people are supernoobs. Antivirus companies suck for making a joke like this.
Yeah I did read in a news article, where this guy was saying if this is real would the dude even activate it with everybody looking for him. Like Aurora said I don't think the guy would be stupid enough to do it. Course that when the news dude said that he thinks he'll activate it once people have forgotten about him.
I got an old comp that hasn't been updated in 2 years. I am tempted to get it infected and see what happens when the maker actually does decide to finish the worm.
