Banging my head against a wall.

Hi, I'm a big fan of SC2 and I LOVE zerg. I'm having a hard time adjusting to SC2 though, it feels like I'm banging my head against a wall. Therefore I thought I would ask for some help here and then revel in the wisdom infused in the answers :D

One of my problems (Besides larvae micro, it's getting better though) is that I am having a hard time balancing my army vs drone count. How many drones should I try to aim for and when should I start transitioning into mass army? I'm having some problem since if I power drones I get overrun early or if I power army I just dont have the economy to keep up.

My second problem, I am FAILING when it comes to the late-game. My BO generally goes from 14 pool (14 hatch if I think I can get away with it, like if someone goes for a very late gate or seems to be going for tech) 15 hatch (Or pool if I got the hatch at 14), I get gas at about the same time as my pool but I am rarely transitioning into roaches (Should I? I hear great things about these but I would just rather get an earlier lair and get fast hydras). Once in lair I go mass hydras... Every... Single... Game... Sometimes I get a fast infestor or two with mass lings and a couple of roaches since I love infestors (Coolest unit ever? Yes please). The problem comes when I start facing a lot of stalkers or the MMM army with tanks and such. My hydras get slaughtered by the tanks and I cant figure out a counter. Basically I am loosing every single fight late-game since my unit composition is worse. Should I add in a mix of roaches for the hydras and is the infestor worth it late-game when the terran has a mass of medevacs and protoss just have those collossus with sentry forcefield stuff that just OWNS me?

My third problem: Mutalisks... I dont know but I hardly ever use these, when I do use them they seem so effective for harassing, untill he gets a bit of AA and then I just fail with them. When should I get them and is there a BO that nets me a good harassing opportunity so that I can get the advantage of economy and army size?

My special little request: A friend of mine goas MASS stalkers... He goes for quite early blink and I just cannot beat him, I tried infestors to fungal growth but apparently he can blink out of that aswell... What do I do to stop him from raping my army by just kiting and blinking away?

Sorry for the long post but I could really use the help

    Thanks in advance :)

I can give a few pointers on dealing with stalkers. Early game, roaches and speedlings will dominate stalkers. The lings are what really kills the stalkers, but you have the roaches to deal with the zealots that are usually in the mix. They also serve as tanking purpose to take on the heavy damage while your lings shreds them apart.

end game, cracklings and ultralisk is all you need.

Speedlings should take care of the blink but you need a unit that can keep up with the Stalkers to harass them as your speedlings catch up (and take the brunt of the firepower). Use Mutalisks. Don't let them engage the Stalkers by themselves, but if you use them as a chase unit while your speedlings go in he won't have a chance.
