battle.net theme

What kind of theme do you think battle.net is going to be? like for the original and expansion it was a terran sort. For warcraft2 it was like marble stone. For warcraft3 it was leafy stuff.

 

Yeah, I see why not something like that can't be implemented.

 

That would be cool. Maybe it would switch themes on different days. A Protoss theme would be my favorite, though.

 

Perhaps you can customize it, like a wallpaper? That would be interesting..

 

Maybe the theme will change depending on what campaign you are doing?

 

Interesting idea. Bt think the ability to choose your background would be better. That way, you can use the wallpaper of your favorite civilization or use the one for whichever civ. you plan to use.

Matbe they could have multiple screen shots for each race so your can choose which one you like the best.

Of course, the expansion will have to have somethings exclusive to it, so why not backgrounds as well.

 

I like the idea to be able to customize it. Protoss theme FTW

 

Maybe they should add a mineral system for game wins and use it customise your profile, the difference from icons like WC3 is that custom maps give mins and ranked ones go on your record and give icons.

 

Ooh, that would be nice, buying customizations for your profile. Sounds like what I do here, LOL.

 

Actually that reminds me of AoE3 where when you earn enough experience you can add a customization to your home city

 

You played that game? I loved it! Unfrtunately, my labtop couldn't install it correctly. I remember what your talking about though. When you grew certain levels, you could add more items into your home town; like people, stalls, and weapons and ships. The splash damage from cannons and its effects to terrain and people were the best effects in the game.

 

It will probably have a neutral one for just on battle.net but in game it will change to your specific race, almost like Frozen Throne does.

So to have a background of a battle currently going on? That would be awesome, but I don't see it happening. It would take a lot of memory to allow a background to be doing something that is happening online and something that is completely random. I just don't think I will see that as an option when the game comes out.

However, I do like your idea of a battle theme or screenshot option. Using replays as a background would be earier on the computer to be able to use, but I still don't think that would happen. The screen shot seems like to most obvious choice and might be in, but as for the other ideas, I don't think Blizzard will use them, even though they are both very good and interesting ideas.
