In a move that I can't say was unexpected, Blizzard has announced that the StarCraft 2 Beta Stage 1 will now close on June 7th. Blizzard had originally stated the beta would end May 31. Plans for a future opening prior to release are (according to Blizzard) still in the works, and no comment has been made regarding any potential changes to the July 27th release date. We previously announced that the first phase of the StarCraft II beta test would be coming to a close in all regions on Monday, May 31. In order to prepare for the final phase of beta testing, we plan to extend the current phase in all regions until Monday, June 7. After this date, the beta test will be unavailable for several weeks while we make some hardware and software configuration changes for the final phase of the beta test and the release of the game. We plan to bring the beta test back online for a couple of weeks prior to the game’s launch to complete our testing. We’ll have more details to share about when this final phase will begin at a later date. That's good. Another week for me to figure out why I've been losing so much since patch 13. Before that I was actually doing pretty good, since 13 I've been making lots of dumb mistakes, not doing the right build order for the situation / enemy race, etc. Very annoying!
Yussss, still have time to play! So far I've probably played less than ten hours in the two days I've had the beta. You can bet that number will skyrocket over the next week!

or maybe they just want to squeeze in 1 more patch to fix patch 13? and if they still want a second beta period before launch, doesn't this just mean they'll just be cutting that one short? i doubt they would rush themselves during the "downtime" to do what they have to do.
Lol patch 13 did worse than good, I agree, but you and I know that there's been a psi storm of frustration regarding that interview. I figured that was a factor in extending this. I think they should be rushing themselves starting now and after launch to implement radical changes...
Extend the beta again! Extend the beta again! I want to keep playing Starcraft 2! At least another week!
