BlizzCon 2008 has been announced and will be held in Anaheim, CA on October 10-11, 2008. This is an unexpectedly early event as usually the BlizzCon pattern has followed a two year cycle, but in continuance of their open policy on the development of StarCraft 2, we're seeing unexpected things! Tickets will soon be going on sale for BlizzCon, starting next week for $100 USD each. So start making your travel arrangements and gearing up for your tickets. Hope to see some of you there! The event will include hands on time with "Blizzard titles" as well as speakers and other events. You can get more information about BlizzCon, tickets, logistics, and features on the announcement page: http://www.blizzard.co.uk/press/080512.shtml
Oh my god, oh my god... shame I live in Europe. But Ill be sure to watch it! I hope its going to be atleast as awesome as the last one.
I live in Daly City which is right next to San Francisco. Anyone know how long it will take to drive from SF to Anaheim? Is it still in the Anaheim Convention Center like last year? Ouch, October is when I start school but I wouldn't have went anyways.
@DarkTemp: It'll take anywhere from five to seven hours by car, but it depends on traffic. If you take a plane there it'll only be an hour or two.
You must have really good roads there if that's true And wow about the announcement. Has it been a year already? I won't be there because I live about 1827 miles away -.- So you people better take good photos!
OMFG blizzard sucks! why dont they host things on the other side of the USA! i'm getting pissed at blizzard. Cant they host something in FL for a day jeez....
Maybe because Blizzard is based in California, just a thought. And TheWorker aren't they pretty much the same thing with one being desinged for a world audience and the other a country's audience?
Yeah, it's a lot easier for Blizzard to hold the convention closer to where they actually are- and California has a large population anyway, fewer fans have to travel far to get there.
What side seaboard Blizzcon is on really makes no difference unless you live close enough to drive there, participate and drive back in the same day (assuming you don't have friends in the area), because the cost of the ticket at best is only 20% of the overall cost if you aren't. Being on the west coast doesn't mean much if you would still have to take a plane there and rent a hotel room.
They're close enough to other densely-populated parts of the west coast that a large proportion of attendees can just drive. Compared to an airline ticket, paying for a hotel room is often trivial.
