Well here I thought I'd be sitting in Vegas at some point this summer, and Blizzard just comes right out and says it isn't so! BlizzCon will be held in the Anaheim Convention Center on October 22 and 23, 2010. There goes my dream of StarCraft in the desert. I even had the SC1 desert tileset all ready to go! Ticket availability and further information should be available in the coming weeks. Source: Blizzard.com
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Summer So even if you add a month to that you're in september. And by that Octorber so can not be summer. So you can have your summer in the desert and make it to Blizzcon in October (your autumn/fall).
Just occurred to me that, despite owning all of Blizzard products, and being a die hard fan of them for...well ever sense they were founded...I've yet to go to Blizzcon once, let alone I even passed on the Stream for the last one they did. I typically just wait for the big new results that come from them, but the cost for going there...as well despite liking other Blizzard fans, I just am not the type to go and meet any face to face(even the Blizzard game developers)...I like my relationship to stay via computer screen to computer screen. :}
there are a couple of big questions this blizzcon: -starcraft 2 release date? -diablo 3 what are we gonna fight as the endboss? -unannounced project, announciation? Cataclysm should be out by then, so probably not too much new WoW stuff
Im planning on making the trek again this year, i loved it last year hopefully i can snag some tickets.
@ the8thark, You really should consider background and manners before posting. The original rumor was that BlizzCon would be in Vegas sometime in July. Therefore: summer and desert.
The only way SC2 wouldn't be out by late Oct - is if they had to make alot of huge changes in units/tiers. Early-est is going to be mid-late summer if it all goes smooth, and in my opinion worst would still have a release date set before we reach Blizzcon.
Blizzcon is so fun sad it wont be in vegas tho, i was looking forward to losing all my hard earned money.. ..and buying Jon a hooker..
At JonX: Good manners is not your strong suit at times either. So I tend to focus on the things you are good at. Like writing really nice SC2 articles. And I know all about the rumours. Thanks for the reply .
I'd be majorly surprised if StarCraft 2 wasn't already released in October. Blizzard themselves have said they're still optimistic about a Q2 release with the beta being 3 months (May-June). Giving a release date at BlizzCon would mean that the release was still weeks or months away. @the8thark: It really does come off as you having it out for Joneagle and a few others on this forum from time to time.. You should work on that.
I think the idea of Blizzcon this late is so Blizz can have a showing of SC2 retail and Catclysm there. And I think that's a good idea. And I am not out to get anyone on this forum. I just respond to people in the exact way they respond to me. Anyways enough of that. Bring on Blizzcon I wonder if there will be a WoW pet for blizzcon this year or some nice SC2 goodies.
Not sure why they'd show a game we can already play. Hopefully, it'll have information for the next expansion pack. Cataclysm is a given If only
as soon as you announce an expansion, all the patches before it are pretty much just filler material, so i doubt they'll announce it before the first major patch is even out
This isn't World Of WarCraft. StarCraft 2 patches are for balances and Battle.net additions. Besides, BlizzCon is in October. That leaves quite a few months for patches to come out if all things go as planned.
i was talking about the WoW patches, SC2 patches will probably create less buzz then that. Then there will be talk about the first expansion of sc2, the unnanounced MMO and perhaps the D3 release date?
Oh, you meant they won't announce the new MMO until the first major patch? I'd take that a few steps further and say they won't announce it for a long time
