probably the same way as Illidan or Malygos, you either fight along some main chars like Maiev, or when the enemy finally unleashes his true power a big dragon swoops in and nukes it. Or you kill it in a dungeon and lore claims it happened otherwise(a la Onyxia or Nefarian)
That is quite a decent way to finish off a char.

I personally hope you'll have the help of Azshara in-game, and lorewise, she did almost all of it.

seriously, Azshara is one of the few characters that would logically stand a chance against deathwing.

The one time I know of when she was close to encountering Deathwing she was too busy summoning demons to do anything about him. Or even take notice.

Azshara has enough power to face Archimonde and that was before she actually started tapping power from the maelstrom

most info of her strength comes from Manneroth who said something like: hey lets bash her, oh wait, she could roflpwn me.

What she actually did wasnt much:
-Main summoner of the portal
-Was able to charm most night elfs and even demons like Xavius through magic

 

Xavius wasn't a demon, he was one of her elves and later the first of Satyr. Also, he was the main guy responsible for keeping the portal in check most of the time. She was too busy picking dressess for Sargeras' arrival.

Now, she IS powerfull, gotta give her that, but for all her mastery of charming magic she got owned by Sargeras with her own weapon.

 

As Aurora mentioned in another thread, demons are pretty much thoroughly corrupted beings, so actually Xavius was a demon.
And i havent read the novels, so i go by with what other people have told me.

well, getting owned by Sargeras would pretty much describe the power of every single character in WoW, besides perhaps a fully powered freed old god.

But even if we take the power of Archimonde as a gross overstatement, she would still be able to grind Manneroth in the dust before her power was boosted by tapping the rift and being naga-fied.

She isnt Sargeras, perhaps not even Archimonde, but she is at least on the power of Malygos in terms of magic.

 

Xavius is a satyr, not a demon.
