what is cyber-junk: A science fiction universe that is the future of the Earth as portrayed in our precious little forum, including our little avatars. Tone: looking at our forum members we are looking at a very ironic universe. Not exactly bad to live in, but a lot of sadistic streaks as well. Seeing as we are not with enough people to populate an entire universe, this universe will have main characters: us. Seeing as we are not there for the people, we will not be the highest ranking politicians, but instead will be the head of militaries, mercenary companies, . Seeing as we are not anywhere near selfless, all the good stuff will happen to us, while bad stuff happens to the population at large. Setting: Going for science-fiction with a touch of fantasy. Our realm was originally pure sci-fi, we get a dark realm to explain the fantasy stuff. Most of the story will take place in sci-fi realm. Fantasy realm is filled with stereotypical fantasy worlds, with a little bit of gothic fantasy(Vamps, werewolves, zombies) mixed in. This is mostly so we dont have to have fantasy expy aliens for the people who have, i dont know, a vampire avatar. No planet-destroying weapons, but fleets of rather large ships. no timetravel. NO TIMETRAVEL. Around 90 or so major species in the galaxy, split up amongst several large factions. Some minor species, less then 100 million in number. proposed year: 2500. proposed details: Moon: populated by zombies. why? because it is cool. Why havent we destroyed them yet? Because Earth's only access to the dark realm is on the moon, and its power source is zombie-central. Shoot the zombies and portal goes boom. government: Earth has an united government with representatives from every continent(+Mars, other colonies fall under a specific continent), the number of representatives is determined by the amount of tax payed. Earth is in a coalition with a few other worlds, and the military is quite strong on the galactic scale. Now add your own stuff.

I thought we'd add some setting first, things like the state of religion, major events in the past 500 years(first contact with aliens, first contact with dark realm, joining(or forming) the coalition), more major factions, and establish the lack of a first directive(stupid first directive). And uberpresident sounds very very typical for Fenix. Cant really think of anything for myself. Except i want to captain a ship. A big ship. Captain of the supreme fleet command carrier OVR-POWAH?

No offense ijff I don't see you as a commander of any kind of supreme fleet or powerful ship but more as a leader of some kind of large underground movement, like the leader of a rebellion or or whatever the universes version of the mafia is. Jon obviously is some kind of demigod, rarely seen but the most powerful single being in the universe (and leader of one of the larger factions). I am likely Jon's second in command, and commander of a small but extremely powerful fleet that is always hunting down and extinguishing pirates and infidels.

That is actually a good idea. Mafia it is. And now for something completely different to differentiate this from standard sci-fi settings: slavery: After the Elron War of 2124 AD, in which Earth and the Nespas destroyed the Elron capital, and then apprehended their now-inert fleet, Earth and Nespan got stuck with millions of prisoners of war, which would bankrupt any government treating them as prisoners. The Terran government solved the problem by instating three classes of slaves, workers, nodies and HV's. Workers are the most common type of slave. They are bound to work for their boss, which in turn is bound to feed them and give them housing. There are very heavy penalties for not treating workers well, including becoming one yourself. Roughly 0,5% of the current earth population is a worker slave. Nodies, which is short for no-bodies, refers to the lowest class of slave. Being a nodie is the highest form of punishment that can be given on Earth, and most of them are murderers. The second biggest group of nodies comes from people who abused the worker slaves they owned. Then there are the HV's, or high-values. When you capture someone and the government needs them really really badly, they are put in this category. As long as they(mostly scientists) work along with the government, they live a life of luxury. In the previous paragraph there has been mention of two alien species already, the Nespas and the Elron. The Elron empire was composed of insectoid warriors controlled by a hive-mind, called the Minzain and a race of warlike humanoids called the Elron. During the Elron war the hivemind was shattered, and most Minzain and Elron died or were captured. There is a small number of them still alive, trying to create a new hive-mind, so the minzain swarm can grow again. The Nespan on the other hand are Earth's first contant partners, their homeworld in orbit around Alpha Centauri. They're explorers by heart and as they bring plenty of gifts to each species they meet, they have good relations with most species in the galaxy. When threatened, the Nespan are sure to bring plenty of allies to battle, and are the species that founded the coalition of worlds in 2314 AD.
