No, I'm just afraid of there being aboslutely nothing after death.

Like sleep, blackness. Not even doing anything. Like no resurrection, heaven/hell, or even wandering around as a ghost.

I'm afraid I'll be bored when I'm dead.

I'm with Willy on this one, cept the bored part. Since if there is nothing after death, your mind would cease to exist when you die, thus, nothing for your non-existent mind to be bored from.

Yes, I am afraid of death, cause I have no clue what will happen, I'm afraid of the people I love dying, cause I don't want to see them (the few that they are) suffer at all.

He owes me some answers, so no.
I don't enjoy the idea of pain that comes with a variety of dying options and then there's the survival instinct, but afraid as such I'm not.

You live only once and well, when youre dead you dont suffer fom it but still, we only got one life and then... well, nothing...
Pretty hard when you think of this...

I fear death to the extent necessary to keep myself alive. I normally don't think about it, but when confronted with death, I am sure I would become a lot more cautious and afraid of whatever could kill me.

I don't fear death, only the possibility of oblivion waiting after death.

Yes, I fear death, for I am an atheist and I don't believe in any religious things, especially afterlife. I am just afraid that it'll just be like sleeping except with no dreams... You can't think, you are unaware of anything, you don't even remember when you fall asleep, that would be like death. Scary. I just hope that in some weird way... that there is an afterlife. Just any that allows me to think. Who cares if I'm stuck in my dead body, as long as I have my conscious thoughts, I will be very happy.

And who wouldn't be afraid of not dying? Being immortal is something only one could dream about. You could do anything. Anything at all. You could learn everything in the world and then use the knowledge for yourself or do things with it. You could even sit at the computer all day and play everyday of your immortal life. That is until you get killed by some à**hôlè. But if you don't, you may just die from the Sun after it swells up into a red giant star, unless we get some real space travel.

The way you're describing not dying Dt_L, makes me wonder why exactly you would be afraid of it, and not yearn for it.

I guess I should have Explained, I hope for oblivion, nothing, no memories no thought, nothing, anything else I do not want and fear. I don't want there to be anything after death, I want that to be it. I don't want the ability to think and understand anymore than I already have.

If after "death" there is oblivion then you won't have the conciousness to understand that there is nothing.

You guys know how sometimes you get in bed and you wake up the next day, and your like wtf happened, and you don't remember anything?

Like a sleep without dreams and never becomming awake, that is obilvion.

Death is a part of life. All things are born, all things grown and eventually, all things die. It's normal and you shouldn't be afraid of it. Of course I'm more useful alive, being able to think and create, than I am as fertalizer, so I am in no hurry to die. I fancy life, and you can take that over my dead body.
