    Which would it be?

I would personally rather die a hero. To have something of a legacy, a memory to leave to leave behind, die with the knowledge that my life, and death, meant something, made a difference. That is more appealing to me than facing years of reduced health and mobility, watching as the world leaves me behind.

I chose old, my life and happiness, and seeing the happiness of the ones I love, are more important to me then what people I don't know think of me.

You can still make a difference, but on a smaller, more personal scale, a romantic scale with a special someone. If you die for the masses, do they really care? Not really, they are thankful somewhat, but in the end, they just sort of shrug it off. With a small scale, you know you have made a huge impact on that persons life.

It in no way matters how you die. Or how anything "dies"

If you're going to be like that, don't post in this thread please.

How about dying a hero when you are very old?

But it doesnt imply what age you have to be, to die a hero.

You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
So, I voted die a hero

Actually. If I die, I'd be a hero posthumously (After I'm dead). Say YES! to organ donation. In dying, you just might save a life.

I think I would do what I feel is right, and if it ment dieing early or not or living old is just whatever.. You wont know your a hero when you die, except in your own mind. Since whoever writes history determines whether or not your a hero, just like a judge in court determines if your guilty or not.

*Ignores ste for the sake of starting no arguements*

You can die old, and still be a hero to a special persons heart, it's much more romantic then dying a hero for a bunch of people. Fenix, if you want to be an organ donor, and save someones life in death, go ahead, be my guest, that's something good to do.

Tink, when you are with someone that long, you already know you are a hero to them, you die with the knowledge of being the hero of their heart.

    Hero to how many?
    The world?
    A city?
    3 children?

There are plenty of heroes who no one has heard of because they saved some backwater town that CNN doesn't give a damn about while others turned off the power, saving one electrician and get worldwide coverage, what makes them better? Similar to how some murders are more publicised.

Anyways, Hero, or not, I don't care as long as I had a chance to do some good. Though I would prefer not dying, if I have to die to rescue someone then so be it.

If i could choose between dying old, living a peaceful or hard life to see myself to the end of my days, or die a hero, i would choose a hero.

It would depend, though. I don't think i would dive in front of a speeding bus to save a little kid, mean as that sounds. I do take some value in my life, even though that boy's life may be more important. I would die without a second thought for my friends, though. Or if i thought it was the right thing to do, like someone was terrorizing people. it would depend a lot on the situation, especially since i get easily spooked.

but on the whole, better to die saving others than to die for yourself.

I don't mean saving some random persons life, I mean dying old, with someone you love, thus you are a hero to them in their heart.

Yeah, I want a "die an old hero". Like I'm a 90 year old man and then run in front of a child to take a bullet. Well... maybe something that would make me more famous. I will vote the third option because the others don't suit me.

meh. being famous is over rated, i dun need people to remember me, i'd just want to die a hero in someone's eyes. like, do something great for them, maybe not die doing it. i just would like to make a difference in someone's life, y'know? it makes me all happy ^ ^

    Isn't that from Dark Knight?

I'd accept both ways either, even if I was just a hero to one person.

That wasn't an option damnit, you don't get to choose when you get the opportunity to do something like that, the whole point of the poll is if you had to choose, you don't get both in 'one or the other' polls.

I'd still rather die to save someone, whether or not you are remembered or loved or in what light you are seen, making a difference with my last action, giving up my life so someone else can live is more appealing to me than dying with someone i love at the end.

The "making a difference with my last action" approach souunds like being an atheist all your life, then on your deathbed you turn to god and say you regret your life, ask for forgiveness etc.
Just think of kind of person you wish to be and try to live it to the best of your abilities, it's more important that you know you've been a good man then media praising you (for a week) after you've kicked the bucket. At which time it won't matter to you
