Well, I'm gonna start the thread I guess. What DON'T you like about SC2 beta? For me, I think I had higher expectations. Well, gosh, it had something to do with 2 years of waiting I guess. I'm not saying it's a bad game. I sort of knew what was comming from looking at the battle reports, but the feeling I felt watching the BR's didn't correspond to the actual gameplay later.. the units are fine I guess, but one thing I don't like are the graphics. I think they are way too colorful. Alot like WC3.. They should make the "diablo 3" change in the lighting..
Also, the designers say that they want to keep the "Starcraft" feeling in Starcraft 2, by keeping a few units and mechanics.. all I can say about that is that I wouldn't care much if the zealot got replaced with a "murlot" or something else. There is not enough Starcraft feeling to it that makes me remember the original.. It's hard to explain. I'm wondering why InReach stopped playing Starcraft 2 competitivly, will Starcraft 2 fall into the "Counter Strike Source" category? Is Broodwar really dead Jon?

It's your opinion, maybe you could not control your hype vs the game.

The game is awesome, graphically and gameplay wise is a lot more tight than I tought. They added a lot of gritiness to most of the buildings including the protoss and I think they dod a good job at it. I don't know what you mean by D3 lighting, but SC2 as a lot of lighting effect and each one seems to be doing it's job beautifully at immersing you into the map. None of them seems out of place. Nothing close to what War3 looked like.

I surely hope that pro will stick to SC2 because it seems like as an awesome game. I'm pretty sure pros ill be able to master the game just like in SC1. Brood war is not dead IMHO it will loose some players to SC2.

I just hope they do a lot in this no-beta-month. Watching the B.net rant by Husky (in an earlier thread) made me wanna puke on Activition. If battlenet is not final, why should the game be?

    the lighting to colorful?

One of the races racial pattern is gold with glowing blue, colorful fits right in for them. Zerg and terran aren't really all the colourful, and look great as well.

You are totally right on that. Both Bnet and SC2 are in Beta for that exact reason. Improvement is always Blizzard's goal.

All I'm saying it that there was a clear difference in color looking at the previous builds (alpha). I'm just wondering if it's right now. Well graphics aren't bad, don't take me wrong..

    @VodkaChill
Well I don't think improvement is something than can happen in such short notice..

I still think models, sounds and units can improve.

Battle.net 2.0. Definetly Battle.net 2.0. I think that Huskys recent video summed it up pretty well. Blizzard (possibly with Activision negative influence) went in completely wrong direction with battle.net and quiet frankly it is horryfingly bad.

One thing I don't like is how air units are SO F***ing strong in SC2.
Air units are supposed to be mobile and not strong, not both.
In broodwar you wouldn't go wraiths and it was a huge investment on your side. You'd go for them for slight harass, and air control.
Hellion + Tank force as terran? Forget it, you're just gonna get owned by voidrays and phoenixes. Oh and not to mention that VR's snipe a building 1000x faster than a wraith.

I know it's not Starcraft Broodwar 2, but come on!

I like that. I was put off in SC that being able to fly automatically meant you are a worthless support unit/harasser. Air should be just as viable a choice as ground. They're higher up the tech tree anyway so it makes sense for them to be invincible to some attacks (AG), be mobile, and dish out damage at the same time.

I'm not sure if you mean disappointed by the gameplay or the entire package.
    Gameplay:
I like it, I think they did a good job but then again who do I have to compare too?
I do feel like its a bit WC3 like, which upsets me a little bit but its fine. I love Starcraft, I'll get used to it.
It could be just me but I really do miss how Wraiths and Scouts could attack both air and ground, not a big fan of viking/banshees.
Battle.net2? total piece of crap. Our old battle.net is better in every way.

Posting a screenshot that old instead of one of the current build seeing as how you have the beta seems like wanting to bend the case in your favour. The game doesn't look like that anymore.

There aren't petitions spammed like they used to be so I think most if not all the fans are satisfied with the colours.

Even with those exemples, I say that War3 and SC2 are way more different thans Sc1vSc2.
With the newer more gritty terran and map feal, this is definatly FTW.

True, Kuvasz, old, but the beta STILL looks a bit too colorfull IMO.
