Hello there!. I'm Swedish fan of this great progressive band from America :).
I have been fan of them since 2003 when ToT came out...since then they have been my
    favourite band.
Have seen them live two times on Hovet in Stockholm and both shows were really top-notch, I
stood in the front row both times and rocked my ass out!! ;D.

Now I wonder if there is any more fans of this band on this forum? ;)

They're a very good progressive metal band. I have two of their albums, Metropolis 2:Scenes from a Memory, and Systematic Chaos. Excellent in every aspect.

What he said. You should start with Images and Words and then explore rest of their discography from there.

I don't know much about them but I've been interested for a while now. It might be wise to start from the beginning, just as perfey suggested. I don't think it can go wrong with Petrucci.
