Holy crap. They never show THAT on those discovery documentaries and such. I read the first 5 parts already. What they do to these people. Crazy. And they get away with it. The example of a 17 year old Dutch girl was a bit crappy imo. Everyone knows that Dutch people are used to all kinds of crap thrown at them from weir politicians. And a 17 year old girl that likes to --PARTY!!!11ONE!-- is a really bad example. What other reason could she possibly have to be there? And erm, one dictator with thousands of badly treated people under him, while he has everything.... sounds a bit like communism.

One of the saddest things is probably that nothing in that article really surprises me. I've heard of it all, only there it's everything on a large scale in a single city. Of course the world's powers can' or just won't do **** about the slavery or ecological rape

You know in Dubai they are building tons of resorts and tourist attractions as well from oil sales. I'll give you some examples of what they are working on and already have build. - An underwater resort that will actually be built underwater in a coral reef and have transparent areas to view ocean life. -A indoor ski resort, with its own indoor sking slope made with 6000 tons of real snow. -A huge landmass of man-made islands, in the shape of the worlds contients each with their own commerical areas, and resorts, etc. video on it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7eUcRjo9Yv4 And other similar projects I don't feel like looking up right now but you get the idea.
Most of those things are also mentioned in the article. I think that pretty much sums it all up. Also, the parts about people treating maids badly: I believe that. However, nobody tells you that those people are nuts. Like every person who gets a maid in Dubai suddenly turns into an evil person, that never gives a **** about what their staff thinks. Just a bit sceptical on that part. The water problems seem awefull, though. I mean, poo on a beach?
If it was just poo... This is one of the most retarded things they do out there. Water is one of their main tourist attractions and they do nothing when it gets mixed with raw sewage? Good luck with that. Thinking of it, helping people there isn't an easy thing. If someone was just to barge in there and free the slaves, there's the other part of population who'd suffer from that and it's not like all of them are evil enslavers etc. Even though it's probably not a large part >.>
