Endless planets with aliens

I was sitting here with a magazine and reading an article about the universe saying how small the chance is for a planet to get life.
And then I figured this out:
The universe is infinite, so there must be an infinitive amount of planets carrying alien lifeforms, and infinite amount that are as evolved as we are... and so on....
    SO, stop doubting, aliens exist:O
    :p
Now, too really find them is an different story...

Yes, the galaxy is huge, there must be life in many other places in this galaxy. There are thousands if not millions of other galaxies. There has to be life somewhere other then here.

Considering there are thousands upon thousands of galaxies, and each galaxy is likely to have planets orbiting some of the millions of stars it has; no matter how small the chance any 1 planet could hold life(as we know it), it's practically certain that other life exists.

The problem will be finding where it is.

Astrologists are using a number of ways to try and find this. They are looking for artificial radio transmissions. Bright denses of light (lasers). Planets with a signature of water. All these things they are using. However, all of these other planets, are so far away, that it takes millions of years for the light, or infrared, or radio transmission to reach us here on Earth.

I think we will be able to see a whole lot more once we get past the Ort cloud.

actually i dont belief in an infinite universe, but that is probably just cause i cant imagine that there are also infinite copies of myself

i dont have a scientific background for not believing it, but neither do i for believing that it is
    basically its 50%/50%
so i just choose to be biased and not belief :p
its not a solid belief though

I was about to post what Ste just did... I really hate it when people mix that up. It's as bad as confusing "Scientologist" and "scientist."

The Drake Equation is of some relevance to this discussion. Unfortunately, the values for the inputs to that function are as debatable as the output itself.

I think it is quite likely that there is something that meets our definition for life somewhere in the universe, but I wouldn't say that the probability is 1. Additionally, it is far more unlikely that we will ever meet them since either one of us could go extinct before first contact and the universe is still extraordinarily large.

The universe is not yet infinite, if it's still expanding then it can't really be called infinite since it hasn't reached it's limits. I think it was something like 13 billion light years currently. But, I do believe that there are extraterrestrials on planets outside of our solar system. the universe is so large, that there just has to be at least one other planet with life on it besides ours.

The void (i.e space) can be infinite while the matter is not, matter is expanding into the void and assumedly has to finite.

Yes i believe there are aliens, it's a simple matter of probabilities.

Infinity has no limit, thats the very definition, to expand without limits..

    Another facepalm....

What makes you guys think life hasn't ALREADY exsisted elsewhere and died out. Many many times...

It probably has. I'm sure many species have faltered. However, I am sure there are many species that still exist, and are doing well, if not better then we are.

    Extremely better.

Also, alien life isn't limited to matter. If they're evolved enough they basically become energetic beings to us. That's why people always see angels as light bodies. So these higher dimensional beings could easily exist on any planet that has a core.

Please Psionicz, don't bring up beings of higher frequency than us... If they evolved to become beings of energy, wouldn't they instantly die if they stand next to a magnet?

That seems so logical doesn't it? Does sunlight get ruined next to a magnet? Does the Earth's magnetic field "kill" sunlight? Also, how can a conscious arrangement of particles die?
