If your game is freezing in-game with the following symptoms: 1.) At any point in the game. 2.) Any amount of units (tons or none). 3.) Sound begins to stutter and loop. 4.) Visuals and mouse freeze completely. 5.) You are unable to exit, or do anything with your computer at all besides manual shutdown. 6.) Could have started since one of the patches, or been a constant problem. 7.) Happens every game, most games, or very few games. 8.) Does not happen any specific time (on exit, on startup, lots of action onscreen, etc.) Try setting EFFECTS and SHADERS to low. This fixed the problem for me.
all those points summed to one; It crashes randomly, not allowing you to do anything but to shut down your computer manually.
As there have been a variety of crashing problems (I know, I searched for a solution to my own) I figured it best to be specific.
