In Starcraft BroodWar, and Original people did not use the full capacity of all unit, or abilities of all units. This means money maps could be one problem, Terrain, and other things you can think of. So in Starcraft II it would be better if some of the terrain could be used as an advantage for most units, of each race (A juicy target, or advantage).

In Starcraft Original, and Broodwar, most players for Starcraft did not use Reavers, or Vultures, or even Queens, because of money maps, or other things like quality, abilities, speed, and etc. (Just an example). So it would be nice if Blizzard's maps would kind of force all players to use all sorts of units instead of using Hydralisks, and Zerglings only. By forcing, this could mean that the computer can counter all your attack if it is just by one type of unit, also the computer player can kill you easier, forcing you to also have a variety of units to fight back.

I'm not saying there shouldn't be money maps, and editing/making for those kind of maps, are not allowed. I'm saying it limits the game, so the maps Blizzard makes that comes with Starcraft II should do that kind of stuff, but my idea is the strategy of the computer players can counter any sort of attack with only one type of unit (Sometimes 2, if it is really late in the game).

Tell me if you disagree or not I'm not sure, but it would make the game more fun, making Starcraft II being used/played/run to its full capacity. :p

I'm not exactly sure what you are getting at, could you explain it a little bit more?

But I do not think money maps limit the game. Some people like to play fast and furious with few units and there is a whole different strategy. And I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to use all of the units in Starcraft II.

Players who did not use Vultures, Queens, etc. in the original did not do so because of maps. They did so because they did not like the unit or felt there was no use to the unit.

I can understand you "fear" of money maps, but sometimes I also play a money map....
But i hate those people that always play money maps....
But isnt it better that was that like normaly maps, dont need to fight against those stupid idiots(those who only play money maps)?

I dont like your idea for different terrain, frankly its too much and it isnt very starcraftish or cool. Just Blizzard needs to balance their units so that the perfect counter would be a solid mix of units and their abilities?

LOL what noob protoss doesn't use reavers?!

But ya, I don't like money maps, although I think that this should be more compared to what the pros use, for example, in professional games, for example, I've yet to see a pro use ghosts at all, just because they take to much time and resources to field, but as far as the protoss go, their pretty efficient, they seem to get their units out to play, except for maybe the scout, it just costs too much

I hope blizzard finds a way to prevent money maps. Money maps are all about brute force and have no point. They dont have a place in sc2 and they dont need to be around. Using skills to get money and use it correctly is what sc should realy be about. fast money maps dont have any of that.

People like money maps so why remove them. If you don't like/play money maps their actions don't change yours so I don't really see a problem...

Well money maps should be there, and people should control themselves. Playing a money map first is a horrible idea, once you adapt it will be so hard to play non-money maps. So don't remove money maps, they are quite entertaining.

@ninerman13 My point is people get used to how money maps are, and depend on them. Like fastest maps are 50000 (Not sure) and Big game hunters are 20000. Maps like Big Game Hunters are good money maps, but too many Fastest Maps only make players depend on that one resource nod. So I say Fastest Maps should be forced in the UMS category.

I think at least 50% of Starcraft players on Battle Net play Fastest maps, and depend on them, and cannot play non money maps. So all I'm saying is, most of Blizzard's computer strategy's should be able to counter most of one unit types, so that would force the player to make about 3 varieties of units to destroy the computer. So players will get used to this kind strategy, and then all units would be used.

Rex i think that the Battle.net system will be made like in WC3, where you only get you score from playing arranged team game, and fast game. Therefore money maps will be in custom, and not give you any score.

Well I don't like the Warcraft III or the TFT system, the list is totally opposite from from Starcraft, New games that are made are at the top, while in Starcraft New games that are created are at the bottom. I also don't like that kind of arranged system stuff, I still say you only get wins from 2 Humans vs 2 or more computers, but is its 2 human vs 1 computer = no win. If its 2 humans vs 1 human it counts as a win.

Im talking about the auto-game, and yes i tihnk that arranged should be changed in some ways. But like I already said, custom maps dont gvie you + or - score, its only arranged and auto, and i think that SC2 battle.net will be so too

There definately should be b-net, it wouldn't be sc2 without it. I know there will most likely be money maps, but hopefully, people won't use tem as much.

There will be mineral clusters with double the natural output, the ability to mass-produce units with a few clicks, the ability to order huge numbers of units around with few clicks, the ability to queue large numbers of structures. I fully expect a large number of players to spend their time in a comatose state, playing each other on money maps.

That said, even on non-money maps, the terrain will drastically effect the way units are used. Maps built like SC maps are today won't take full advantage of what some units are capable of doing. The cliff-jumpers are like half-air units, and require a very unusual mindset to utilize completely.

Think of it this way: the Vulture was never used by normal players to the degree it was used by professionals, SC2 features at least four units, probably more, that actually allow for more improvement-through-micro than the Vulture. Watching a pro using Stalkers will be unsettlingly beautiful, Blinking individual units in a tactical ripple, while a newb would barely make any use out of Blink at all.

The game being unutilized by many will be a given: it is how many want to play, but that not something you want to forcibly take away from players in an obstructive way, it'll just annoy them.

I'd like Starcraft to impliment some kinda renewable energy source system/mechanics this would stop people from only playing money maps since theres no fear of completly running out of minerals then ultimatly losing.

Possibly, but more along the lines of structures which convert something something into something. Ya know? I may make a topic on my ideas if people seem interested.

I get what you're saying, but I think that the crowd that plays Fastest doesn't want much economy management at all. They probley want more along the lines of 30 BCs, ASAP.
