Ghosts

Do you believe in ghosts or the supernatural? Have you ever had any experiences with it?

 

nahh. i don't believe in 'em. i have some biblical verses and scientific explanations to back up my answer. lol. what about you?

 

I do, but I don't think in the traditional sense. I believe that the afterlife is located just slightly set off from our physical world, and there is a barrier between them. However, sometimes, in some places, that barrier wears thin. Like old battlegrounds, where so many people passed through the barrier at once, there are gaping holes. Or graveyards where so many spirits are trying to return to life, it's stretched and not as tight. Basic hauntings, such as a single ghost in a home are those with strong enough wills to start tearing their own hole in the barrier.

If you can't grasp my barrier metaphor, try picturing it as a weave of threads.

 

lol. do you mean there's like a sort of boundary between the physical world and the spiritual world? well i do believe in the afterlife, just not the ghosts. but i really couldn't say that the spirit world is here on earth or somewhere in the universe.

 

Yeah.....I guess you could call it a veil. I don't think there's any grand journey after death, just a sort of phasing into a different existence. A bland one, with none of the vitality of this world, which is why they try to come back, but they rarely can.

I think I kinda sorta just did. But, of course, that's my person opinion. And like UchihaItachi (Yes I copy pasted that name) said, I believe it because of my religion.

 

I could say that
I believe that aliens are fighting an epic battle located just slightly set off from our physical world, and there is a barrier between them. However, sometimes, in some places, that barrier wears thin. Like old alien battlegrounds, where so many aliens died there and passed through the barrier at once, there are gaping holes. Or other alien staging points where so many aliens are trying to invade this plane, it's stretched and not as tight. Basic alien incursions, such as a single recon team in a home are those with strong enough portal generators to start tearing their own hole in the barrier.

that doesn't mean that I've explained these occurances correctly.

 

Yeah. You could. I couldn't prove you wrong. I never said that was the explanation, just an explanation.

 

well i'm sure no HUMAN knows the explantion. so a guess is always fine...unless it's just plain stupid

It really just has to do with religion. I'm atheist so I don't believe in ghosts. Not even the afterlife, really. Ah well.

The closest encounter I've had with ghosts was probably in F.E.A.R. or Doom or Starcraft or something.

that just means you are paranoid... or jumpy. one of my co workers is extremely jumpy. if someone rings the doorbell to the shop he will jump up and start looking around. same with any other noise. So I told him never to join the military because he would die and be completely useless in a firefight.

 

believing in ghosts doesn't necessarily involve religion.

 

Ghosts? Sure, why not. After all, ghosts would make life much more intresting. That and I swear the TV must be possessed. That's the only explanation for why it doesn't turn on half the time but has the sounds. And always seems to start on Oprah.
