I hope this is in the right place. Anyway, my boyfriend is a huge Starcraft fan. He works long hours, spoils me rotten, and is a wonderful guy. I feel like I want to get him something nice to surprise him. I'v looked all over the internet, and I am having a hard time finding anything Starcraft related other than the games themselves. I was wondering if anyone here knows of any cool, fun Starcraft related merchandise that I could pick up over the internet that might please a mega fan.

If your boyfriend hasn't pre-ordered a copy of StarCraft II already, you could always buy him the collector's edition, which comes with a bunch of neat swag like concept artwork, game developer commentary, and an exclusive in-game pet (if your boyfriend also plays World of WarCraft). The downside is that the whole package costs $100, but if you're not going to use the mini-Thor pet for World of WarCraft you could always sell it to a pet collecter - you may even make back the money you spent on the collector's edition!
The stuff in the Blizzard store is pretty cool. I like the messenger bag and the mousepads. http://us.blizzard.com/store/browse.xml?f=f:3#p1 Don't bother with the board game unless he's already expressed interest.
some other ideas... does he have a laptop? you can probably get him a custom vinyl with a starcraft 2 design. http://laptopvinyl.com/index.html i'd suggest this pic (if terrans are his favourite race, at least) http://us.media.blizzard.com/starcraft2/images/artwork/ss38-hires.jpg
Does he already have the collector's edition of the game reserved? If not, that might be a good idea. I know you said besides the games but still if he hasn't already, you might want to consider that.
Buy him the collector edition. But you have to be sure that he has not pre-ordered it yet. Strategically, to know this, make like this : Meet your boyfriend and ask him this question "will you play Starcraft 2 when it will be released ?" and then you must expect him to answer "yeah ! of course ! I can't wait for this game anymore." After this question that launches the debate about SC2 between both of you, ask him "Are you already prepared to play with this game ? Can your computer run it ?" and here he has to give you an evidence of what he decided to do. At this moment either he will say nothing or he wil say "yeah, I've already pre-ordered it !" If he says this last sentence, ask him if he pre-ordered the normal edition or the collector one. If he just bought the normal version, then you know what you have to do He will be satisfied anyway to get the collector edition. Good luck !
