ok, first you take a right and head down the stairs, head to the door after your mom talks to you. If she doesn't talk, set the game down and go look around for her to talk to. After that, pick up the game again and head to the door. Go up til you find the Professor having trouble with pokemon. Choose Mudkip and win by yawning at it. If it doesn't fall asleep, you're destined to lose the battle. After you win, he sees your strength and gives you the Mudkip for fear that if he doesn't you'll use it against him. Then head into the tall, grassy stuff to find another pokemon. As you don't have any magic capture devises, you have to kill it before your Mudkip is killed. If your last pokemon dies, you lose the game(haha the game, you've now lost it). After you have your magic capture devises, you must capture every pokemon you run into, else you'll get caught by PETA and sued for animal fighting. I've never gotten past this part due to PETA watching my every move after my first offense.

Me thinks if you get breloom which is grass/fighting you can both beat the psychic pokes AND the water pokes. But I don't remember it's attacks, so no idea, but maybe with some TMs you can have him moshing in no time. EDIT: For Fire poke, I'd get something like camerupt cuz he's fire + ground, so you can use earthquake and whatnot to beat some of those ***/rock types and some of the non-flying steel types (if there's any, I don't remember)
