    That once made me mess up a paper for economics class. Comparing all kinds of aspects of the world economy to each other. Not really need to in into to many details here, I purpose. So many hours lost... I only got a 6 because of that stupid milliard crap.

    Well people in US hardly ever learn to count to more than 6,000 so billion defined as 10^9 is more than enough to cover your numerical system.

    May I ask when the average person would ever need to physically count to over 6,000? I personally could count to as high as I want, but I have no reason to do so, so I don't.
