Theres going to be High School open houses soon, and I'm not sure what I should be looking for. Does it depend what I like? I live in Edmonton Alberta (Canada) any ideas on what I should be looking for, and what my average mark should be? I really want to make it into the normal classes, but my marks are a bit low. I'm sitting at a 61% right now.

61%? Is that your grade average, or the percentage of people above/below you?

I'm not familiar with marks and open houses or anything with Canadian schooling, but it sounds like how colleges work, having days that high school students can come and see the campus.

Yea I didn't do anything during 1st term, and it was hard getting it to 61. I still have 3 weeks left to raise it to a 70-80.

Yeah, you should try to get it higher. A 61% would be on the verg of failing in my classes.

You should be ok as long as you get it higher than a 70%. As I've been told before, "Time to close the labtop and open the books."

OK. Thanks Eon. Do you have any idea what I should be looking for in a High School? (Like to qualities, or w/e) I'm not sure what to look at.

61%? Someone needs to spend a bit less time playing starcraft and a bit more on his studies, I think ; ).

Anyway, are you trying to choose a high school or what? Open houses tend to be mostly games and stuff (in my experience), if that is what your asking.

Its just low because I was just slacking, I wasn't playing Starcraft for quite a while now. And Yes I'm trying to choose a high school, and during the open house I want to know what qualities or the school I should look for/at.

That's difficult to say, since none of us know you well enough and probably don't know the schools in your area. The only general advice I can give is to go for a school with a small class size. I've noted alot of people from small classes do better then the larger schools.

Other then that, avoid schools where you might get shanked (like mine from before 6th grade), and try to find a school where alot of people have similar tendencies to you. You can generally tell that by how much effort goes into diffrent programs. For example, a large school with a big sports program is probably centered more for jocks, where as schools with about 6-24 people in each class probably won't even have a clique. So use common sense. Or do what my friend did and go to the place with the most drugs.

Lol I know lots of schools where people are in gangs and you get beat up a lot because of your culture/colour, or beliefs. I'm trying to get in schools that are organized, and have less of that bad stuff.
