So, I'm graduating middle school in a few days and I'm going to go to high school. I'm just wondering, what is high school like? Is the work hard? Teachers mean? Gangs? Just tell me about your high school. I want to be prepared for anything that can happen.

As a Sophomore going to his Junior year I can say one thing. Whatever your expectations of High school are just throw them out the window. The person who makes High school fun and interesting is yourself. You can't really define it any other way. Of course there are the normal problems High school students face, but in the long run. It is mainly up to you on how High School is. Another thing to know is that High School is truthfully different than any other thing you have come to know as far. Make friends, make relationships, and be happy are all I can really say. Oh, wait, please don't be one of the Freshman drunks... they make me weep when there stupidity shines through.

i'm also going to be a HS junior next year.

Seniors here were really, on a whole, mean to freshman. they treate dus badly and made fun of us and trated us like we were 'freshman" and not humans. But, there were really good people, too. The hallways were really crowded here, and the exams were total *****es to deal with. There are more projects for classes all around the same time, too, it seems. But on whole people still act the same, there's just more going on. I liked HS beter than JR high because i felt i got closer to my friends and that there was more to do. Clubs are a lot cooler, people are more dedicated, but there's also barriers as always. classes are better, i especially thought the teachers were better. Maybe it's just me. PEop[le act just as immature, friends and people atay the same, the classes aren;t too different either, so it can throw you off at first because most the new stuff are little things, even though there can be major differences.

I hope you enjoy it, it starts off rough but always gets better ^_^

as i just graduated from high school, WOOT!, all i can say is that my school was just about the same as my middle school was, some notes were that some bullies slowly came none bullies anymore, there is the possibility to hang out with friends some more, do to clubs, and while there are still some class types that you have to take, you have a broader scope on the classes you can take to complete them.

Highschool is easy, in every aspect.

High school was incredibly easy. I'm pretty fuzzy on the details because it was between eight and four years ago for me but you don't learn anything of any consequence in high school. All actual learning is done in college. For instance, I had trouble writing 2 pages double spaced in high school. And I took Advanced Placement English 11th and 12th grade. In college I quickly learned how to write very long papers (and not from the one English class I took). Last winter I had to write a 15 page double spaced paper every week for 3 weeks. So, just hang out with friends, get involved in things you're interested in like sports or whatever, and enjoy yourself. Oh but be sure to maintain a good GPA, take as many advanced placement classes as you can (if your school has that) to further boost your GPA and do well on the SAT so that the college you go to pays for a lot of it. College is infinitely more better anyways.

high school is school for when you are 14-18 years of age, its the last bit of required school by the united states laws, after high school you can then go to college if you wanted to. im not really sure how to explain it more beyond that, without listing the order of the united states school systems. in what country do you live in? from that i can make a rough compare, between the 2 different school systems

High school: Time of your life. Do whatever you want, but don't do anything stupid and end up where you don't want to be. Lay off of drugs, stay out of gangs, don't make any babies you don't want, common sense stuff. You still have to do a lot of studying and stuff, especially if you're thinking about going to a good college, but it's not so important it should crowd out your life. But remember that some high schools are more rigorous and/or strict than others.

after looking around, high school is like the Voortgezet Onderwijs section of the dutch education system, as for it being easier, that depends on the person themself. if its easier or not.

Thanks guys, you cleared up many things for me. I'm lying... I'm just saying that to be nice. But some things actually made sense. But another question, coping with the pressure.

How would you handle pressure your parents give you after your failure brother just entered an okay college and your parents don't want you to become a failure?

They're probably trying to help you with pressure, but most of the time it's counterproductive. If you find that's the case, just ignore them and do whatever think is best.
