    What started off as this, innocently bought a few years ago on a long trip to Adelaide;

    Has grown into this, a harsh amalgam of birthday presents, Christmas presents, holiday souvenirs and visits to the $2 shop;

    If you couldn't tell, I collect dragons. I've got dragon lights, clocks, letter openers, snow globes, containers, bowls, staplers, coaster holders plus coasters, DVD/CD holders, candle holders, pencil holders, incense burners, vases, bells, plushies, hourglasses, bookends, bookmarks, necklaces and key rings, not to mention the tonnes of ceramic dragons, the wooden dragons, pewter dragons, glow in the dark dragons and Lego dragons, plus the dragon books, shirts, pillows and posters. I call it a hobby or collection, others call it an obsession.

    What about you guys? You got any hobbies? Collections? Obsessions? How long have you had them and when did it start? Is it particularly expensive? Do you have them just for display or is it something you're really passionate about?

    For the non-collectors, any thoughts or comments on my or other people's collections? Does it seem logical or just insane to you? Ever thought of starting your own?

    Only ever 'collected' W40k, but that wasnt really a collection thing.. just because i liked to learn how to blend and highlight etc. Was quite expensive tbh tho cause i always got angry when i did something wrong or fcked up a model with too many layers of paint :p.

    Nice dragons btw, when i was little i always used to look in shop windows at dragons like that and think omgomgomg i want one! Only to realise they were like £200 (these big ones with jewels etc..) and go home sad to my lego dragon.. np!

    Yeah I collected Warhammer as well, both 40K and Fantasy. Neither of my armies really got that far as the only person I really had the chance to play against was my brother and we never really had enough units, terrain or a large enough playable area to do so. My cousin was quite into it though so whenever he came over we usually had a huge painting session beforehand and played a fair few games while he was here. That didn't happen too often though as they lived over an hour and a half away so we didn't get together too frequently.

    Yeah, you're right when you say they're expensive. The one in the middle f the bottom picture cost about $200 which was actually quite good for its size and electronics, etc. It's funny though. I remember when the centrepiece of my collection was a relatively small slivery one. Dunno if you can spot it, it's roughly in centre, the behind the reddish snowglobe and in front of the hourglass. I always used to think that one was big. Since then I got the $200 one and started thinking that that one was huge but recently I've been to a place which has full-sized dragon coffee tables, chandeliers and wall hangings which absolutely dwarf my current centrepiece. I didn't get any though. I've got no place for them and they cost thousands. Still, it really puts things in perspective.

    I've always had an obsession with old hardware/electronics, i never throw them out, even if they don't work. For some reason.

    I have a 80gb Ipod sitting at home w/ no use, lol

    My first collection was pokemon cards. I had about 150 different pokemon from the first two series. It saddens me to see how much money I put into buying them, but never learned how to actually play the card game.

    Now I collect those collector's spoons you see at tourist sites. It's an odd hobby, but a cheap(costwise) way to have something to remember places by. I've got about 15 different spoons from places like the Grand Canyon and Kentucky Derby.

    Speaking of the Kentucky Derby, the famous horse statue of the first winner of the derby was made by my grandfather on my mom's side.

    I used to collect bugs when I was a kid. I built an my own environment for them. It had a pond, tomato plants, grass, old toys I didn't want, rocks, and of course, about 10 different kinds of bugs I could find in my backyard. They ended up breeding inside the box which was pretty cool, but it got over populated.

    Wow, they breeded inside the box that's cool!

    I don't really have any hobbies but I like to collect the State Quarters. *Sigh* I'm always missing at least one in my collection. I have no obsessions. Yet. I think.

    That dragon collection: awesome... no, like, really, reeeally awesome.

    I collect... a few things, but nothing that is not really, really dumb to collect >_< As in... literally junk. Let's see... milk jug caps... milk jugs, Capri Sun boxes... plastic cat litter containers... quite a lot of that has made it to the trash where it belongs, thankfully. I like things... that you put other things into.

    I used to play Nox, and, online, I had a character called Keeper of the Chakrums... and I collected chakrums, which are these frisbee-like throwy-weapons.

    Um... I "collect" 2-dollar bills too. I mean, yes I could just go to the bank and ask for a bunch, and maybe I will some day... but...yeah.

    Ikki Tousen Battle Vixen Happy Go Lucky Yanky Action Time!

    Hey all. So, as some of you might know, I've gotten a sudden craving for collecting toys. Well, I recieved my allowance this week, and decided to start big. The following are the pictures of my new Kanu Unchou figurine. Feel free to comment on what you guys think of her!

    [IMG]

    Up close and personal with this first shot. Few guys get this close to Kanu and live, but, luckily, I look enough like a woman that I was spared. Thanks Kurai.

    [IMG]

    Back view. Sorry about the lighting on the skirt, suppose I didn't have enough. And yes, the hair is a ***** to style.

    [IMG]

    Diagonal sort of shot here. I think this is the best of the photos I took. Shows off a bit of everything, though the Simpsons skin tone takes away from it a little. Blame my light source.

    [IMG]

    Full on side view, showing off some lovely lady thigh. You can check out the boots, too, and her weapon is in a slightly decent view with this one.

    Well, that reaches the limit of the pictures I'm able to post, thankfully for you guys. If anyone is curious about the figure, feel free to ask, and I'm always able to get more pictures. And please, comment! Do any of you have any figurines? Models? Miniatures? Toys from your childhood that you cherish? If so, please post 'em! I'm definately interested, and hopefully others are, too.

    I've started collecting skulls. Not sure why. And not ones I just find, cause that's gross, but ones you get in old-timey shops and gift shops and stuff, as well as online retailers.

    I also collect difference incenses, whenever I buy a pack, I set aside one scent. Yeah.

    Itza, I should post a pic of one of my skulls, it's a dragon skull.

    O lawd, Itza. I've got myself a Dragon Mug, good for the drink. I'll take a picture of it sometime, see what you think. Hell, I might even send it down to Itzaland.. Wherever that may be.
