How Overlords and Guardians can fly? I don't see any wings or something, what could cause them moving, even through the space (Zerg travel through the Black Hole to Aiur cinematics). Your thoughts?

Maybe they hover with some special lightweight gas in their special gas pockets...

Yeah, but you need only minerals to build them...

Well of all zerg units overlords have the strongest psi power since they control all the other zerg within the area. So with the hundred minerals you spend on them to boost their energy and power they just use their minds and float

It's obvious that cost is not affected by how units work or look like or the other way round.

The most feasible explanation for Overlords flying is what GM_k said. They are large units and have plenty of space for gas sacks, which are probably at the top of their 'backs', which is why it looks as if everything else is sagging from there.

I do agree the overlords must float using a series of gas bags located on it.

However minerals are a rather interesting subject when concerning the zerg, as all zerg units/buildings are organic and thus would logically not need any form of mineral for construction. My idea is that the minerals are used as a "food source" for zerg units during the period where they are in their eggs (humans also need a supply of minerals from the foods we eat, however since the zerg must get "food" from various different planets with unique ecosystems adapting their bodies to consume only minerals would be a good idea for maximizing adaptability, note that this idea is far fetched and may be even physically impossible) or that the overlords/guardians use pockets of gas contained within the minerals for flight (as one must note it is never clear what kind of mineras these are and that many on Earth do have small amounts of gas contained within them).

But how about guardians? They don't seem like they have giant gas sacks.

They are quite skinny but my bet is on them pumping some kind of gas (not necessarily air but something more condense) under them. That's what their animation hints to me, at least. (continuously breathing rapidly)

But that doesn't explain how they travel through space, since there's no air or gas out there unless they were near a star or a planet.

That's why they only travel there in cinematics :p
You will not find a good explanation for this because this is a game. Same goes for how the Banshee, the Dropship and pretty much every terran unit works. You don't need an explanation for Protoss because it's easier to say that they're using a technology we can't comprehend :p

Maybe the people who made the Dropship and Banshee went to Hogwarts and can just do that :)

The overlords and the guardians fly becouse they's have stomach problems,... gas problem =D

    HaHaHa

They's have a powerful psi power, they's can control the magnetism of the Space and planets, like Magneto in X-Men

I think that it would be possible that the zerg have evolved some form of mass collector organ that combines the tiny and few particles of gas in the void of space to form a thin layer around the overlord/Guardian which the units use as jets (in the same way a rocket does). Evidence of this comes from the thin haze around overlords/other zerg air units in cinematics. Or it could be just caused by bad cinematic quality..............

Yes..... i know........ i am desperately trying to come up with ideas on how this would all work and i now must resort to the near impossible.......

But Magneto? He can fly using the magnetic camp of the Earth. Why the zerg can't do that?

    Overlords float by using telekinesis.
Guardians, who spits out gas balls to attack, uses the gas from its stomach(the gas is produced while the food is being digested) to fly.(In easier terms, they fart to float.) ;D

In space theres no air. That means you cant flap your wings to move forward...Z_z
