i am at school now, so i dont have time for a big first post.

The main question is: do you want to be cremated, buried or donated to science when you are dead?

my opinion: i would go for donated to science, unless i become really rich, awesome and popular, then i'd built myself a big shrine and would only donate my brains to science

Donated to science/organ donor. If not, cremation. I don't understand why people would refuse to donate if they were able to. I mean, most of the time, it's not possible, but given the right situation, they can take almost every organ, which has the potential to save that number in lives. So yeah, donation, but if I die in an unsuitable way, cremation.

Cremated and then my ashes spread around certain areas of my personal interest.

Probably on a list somewhere along with my will.

Set out to Sea on a long boat, and having the boat set aflame. Plenty of mead drinking by my friends and family, and of course, the passing around of a comely young lass. VIKINGS. YARR.

Other, as in merged into a diamond after being cremated. It doesn't spill, is pretty, and doesn't occupy a lot of space.

    Why not two?

I'm a huge fan of postmortem organ donation to like hospitals and stuff. I mean...I don't need them anymore. After all my useful bits are chopped away, I'd like cremation and my ashes thrown over a cliff. Preferably in Zion National Park, but I'd settle for off into the ocean.

Cremated, then turned into a diamond, or shot out into space. I've actually heard that being fired into space is cheaper than a traditional funeral.

You heard wrong. It costs hundreds of thousands to launch a sinlge pound of cargo. To date they have only launched ashes into space.

As for me I would donate my organs and have the rest of my body ground into fertalizer and a tree planted in the resulting dirt.

I'd want to provide nutrients to a tree. An apple tree, with lots and lots of blue birds to eat my fruit and an Italian family who will eat spaghetti under me while stroking their Irish terrier puppy named Pickles.

    I love life

I chose "donate to science" and I am a registered organ donor.

Seeing as how I will be dead, I don't particularly care about what happens to my corpse. Donating my body/organs can do more good than anything else, so that's the best choice in my opinion.

While I too don't really care what happens to my body when I'm done using it, the very though of someone embalming me and sticking me in a treated wood box to poison the earth for a few hundred years really irks me.

    Other.

I want my corpse shot out into space. Or used as some kind of biological weapon in a war.
If that's not possible or too expensive then I'll donate my corpse to science.

To BOP: You're not really poisoning the Earth. As you're just slowly becoming fertiliser for the new generation of plants. So keeping the cycle of life going round

And I have a question for you all. Once your soul has departed your body, do you still retain ownership of your corpse? Though you no longer inhabit it anymore.

    Amazing.
I am precisely about to watch this movie. Just reviewing few forums before to go to bed ... ;)

    Other.
I don't want to be put in a bag and then in a box and then in a hole, that would just kill me twice:
Do you really want to spend your afterlife locked in a f#cking box, a couple of feet under the ground? All alone in the darkness, the wet, the dirt etc? That is so scaring...
I don't want either to be cremated: what a stupid waste of energy and organic matter!
I don't want to donate my corpse to science, or to other people, as I just don't know what they will do with it: I am trying to have a healthy lifestyle, that is not to replace the heart of a fatass who only knows fast-foods and cooked meals and can't cook eggs by himself, or the lungs of an addicted who used to annoys everybody around him/her with his/her smokes all his/her life. Let them die, seriously. Let them painfully die. All those idiots already annoy normal people way too long, this is not to extend their stupid lives!
Except if it's for my own family, or people I really like and respect, I would rather like to have my remains dropped into a bin than given to some loser around.

The best I would like is just to be dropped in the middle of a field or a forest, so animals could eat my remains and I would go back to nature, to the cycle of life. I would be within the plants, the birds etc, and that would be like a second life, another life. Not conscious, but still here, a bit everywhere, and contributing somehow to the lives of few animals, instead of some "civilised" humans.

That sounds very epic but you'd actually be shat out.

As for your point on being a donor, AFAIK organs are given to people who are born with a defective organ or who have contracted some disease which was beyond their control. Or something along those lines, but I'm fairly sure they don't replace organs that were mistreated by the person, although obesity and all its consequences tend to be treated as something uncalled for - with which I disagree completely.
