Alright This is a huge challenge all the people I know on msn that have huge amounts of knowledge on computers failed -.-

Anyways I need to recover a file I deleted by accident. Its a txt File with Sources for my ipod (Most of these sources were really good and I wanted to try them, and please do not post other sources for me to use because this is a thread to recover deleted files). The 2nd option is to recover history from firefox that was deleted about 2 months ago.

Please help me I really need this Q.Q. Thank you

+1 for interest. I'd love to be able to do this with some image files and .pdf's I deleted in a moment of bad judgment.

I'll give another +1 for interest as well. What operating system do you have because I know that is going to be important, also, how long ago did you delete the file? (My guess is your going to need some heavy duty software to try and recover a file that has been deleted from the trash, but I am no expert)

Easy, just donate 30 gold coins to the god Beliar and he will summon 3 demon lords. Then beat them on a game of Pazzak with imperial rules. If you do, data is back and demons go back to hell.

.. [offtopic: off]: +2 for interest? :p No idea how to do this. Probably no one knows on this forum.

    www.aumha.org/a/recover.php/

That contains a crapload of info on recovering files. It is the least non-geeky version out there of a proper explanation. I did not feel like typing and reccomending a lot, since I knew this site is still there.
I do hope that you have not used that pc a lot after deleting those files, since windows overwrites deleted files. That is how windows keeps the system as clean as possible. If you used any defrag tools since deleting it, your files are almost a surely lost. Unrecoverable, that is. There still could be fragments out there, but that will do you no good for most file types.

You also might want to take a look at the above link. Lots of great tools which you can use for free. More recently updated too.
By the way, do not let yourself be fooled by the 2006 date of the first page. Windows still works the same, so updates are not neccecary. Keep that in mind before saying the site is out-dated. I hope this helps you guys out. It greatly helped me a while back.

Since it would be nearly impossible to create a decent back-up of all other files just for system recovery purposes. Further, system recovery DOES remove any software you installed in the period after your recovery point. I lost all my RPG savegames because of that once. Not cool.

I use to have a one hundred percent backup on my 250 external. Works great when you have a 64 gig internal. Not so great when you have a 750 internal.
