I hate percentages

Currently enjoying the fun of eevee breeding in HG(and no I am not using the ditto trick, that's just wrong), and wanting to get a female eevee with a calm or modest nature.

The problem? Well...

male/female hatch ratio = 87.5%/12.5% (so basically the same ratio as the male/female online gaming community)

2 natures out of 25 possible = 8% (compared to a 20% chance of getting a nature that does diddly to stats)

So out of 100 eggs, I'm lucky if I get 1 to be a combination of the two. What makes it harder is that i can only hatch 5 eggs at any given time and take about 10 min of bicycling each to hatch >.<

On the bright side, that means I'll have about 3-4 boxes full of eevees by the time I'm done

why would anything mate with a gelatinous pink blob that can temporarily take another's form? I mean...unless your into that kind of thing... >.>

 

well, i can imagine the shapeshifting thing would be concidered a plus by some guys

Anyways, be happy that it's not the classic pokemon. I remember it took days to get an egg, and even longer to hatch it. >_<

 

well at least at the end you'll have enough of the buggers for a nice fur coat, and a lot of meat.

 

I've got enough male eevees so far to last me every future game that the HG is trade compatible with. Only gotten 3 females so far, 2 of which have those aforementioned natures that dont do anything

 

I guess I should add that the male eevee im using to mate with is one of the offspring of the female.

So, not only am I forcibly making animals mate for my amusement in a kids game, Im also allowing mother-son mating as well as inter-species mating before that.

Isn't pokemon awesome?

 

Don't everstones increase the chance of passing on the same gender to the offspring? Or am I thinking of natures?

 

just checked....it affects nature, giving it a 50% chance of having the same nature as the female.


I didn't even know that, that'll be useful once I find one.

 

that would increase your chances by quite a bit.

 

thats assuming i already have a female with a nature I'm looking for, which is kinda too late by that point

Though I could use it later to make more eevees with a good nature

 

Got one with the Calm nature, which adds sp. def while lowering att, which was one of the 2 I was looking for. No need for att stat when all the good moves Im looking for are sp. att
