Actually, no. The bang is also referring to the spark plug. From my limited understanding of internal combustion engines, the spark plug is directly related to the ignition spark, which then sets the motor in motion. Multiple spark plugs exsist because multiple cylinders need ignition. Since an ICE is purely mechanical, a bigger plug is needed to start larger cylinders (such as those in a semi or a tractor). Bigger spark plug means a bigger spark, or, as the boxers so aptly call it, a bigger 'bang.' The pin-up is merely refering to the fact that most mechanics are too fat/greasy to get a babe, so they comission one to be drawn instead.
