I attached the replay so you guys can see me get destroyed by another bronze player. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me why I am usually so far behind the other protoss players based on that.
1. You didn't transformed your gates. You had the research ready for 30 seconds but didn't transformed them. 2. 4G vs 3G. 3. If you see him going 4gate, 3 stalker rush. (Optional)
build orders is not the same thing as mechanics, mechanics is how you execute your build orders on given situations. The best way I learned, was watching Youtube videos, and doing nothing but 4 gate, practice until it is perfect, then modify my build to incorporate 3 gate robo, then 3 gate expand etc... most of the time it comes down to your gas timing... the more gas you need, the earlier you get it. try to get your 4 gate ready at 6:30min with units and you should be good. I dont suggest blink stalkers for silver league players, since it requires a lot of micro to make it cost effective. 4 gate is just pure beefyness
i find that a good army of zealots with a sentry mix is good against most ground army comps, especially with charge and the ground shields upgrade (especially if he's going for more stalkers/marauders/roaches thing, i have found that transitioning to dts works to, because when they lose there usefulness you can make archons with them to get some awesome support for your zealot/sentry/stalker ball.
I agree that is a good composition, this is a popular build. However: - roaches are able to own zealots/sentry mix - don't upgrade ground shield, upgrade armor. You don't care how much damage your shield takes, you care about not letting the damage dip into the hp of your unit. Statistically, a unit will lose all or barely lose any shield at all, so armor is more important, and cheaper... shield is more for micro battles, such as blink stalker battles. good luck
Thanks I forgot about the roaches, but shields upgrades for EVERYTHING and will recharge unlike armor and I have found that in the short run I may be weaker but once I get more shield upgrades plus guardian shield they usually cannot stop my huge push, plus with DTs and archons which have low armor but high shields I find the upgrade becomes vital to some battles unless ghosts come in to play this zealot/sentry/Archon(or DT) push becomes a force that should be reckoned with. Back to the roaches I usually will use the build to force more of them and transition to a void ray harass or robo with a overseer for scouting burrow and warp prisms for powerful, quickly reinforced drops by warp gate.
well if it works for you, really.. you are right about archons, but how often do you have archons early game for a timing push. Archons are usually mid/late game. As protoss you need a lot of gas, so that 200 could be used more wisely. you coul use it to tech, 1/2 sentries, 4 more stalkers etc... I find sentries to be more effective than archons early game, since the battles are with small armies and force fields destroy small armies. especially vs terran, in masters, terran players get ghosts right away... dunno about your league. Again, a unit will lose all or barely to none of its shields, this is why your theory of recharging your shields, is not a important factor. you don't want to starve yourself on gas, most importantly.
i also find that my build supplemented with a robo bay for detection, immortals, and maybe even colossi for crowd control.
