So, time. We all know what that is, am I right? We percieve it as fixed rate, unchanging, no variables.

    That's WRONG.

The higher you are (altitude wise) the slower time moves. That's cause it warps around high mass high density objects (AKA the earth). This effect is so prevalent, time actually moves slower for someone living in high mountains as opposed to sea level.

So someone stationed for 8 months up in the ISS (Internation Space Station) doesn't perceive it as being 8 months.

I just read up on the math for this. It's really cool, especially when dealing with superdense objects, such as black holes. If you skim the event horizon, time speed up so much for you compared to everything else, you leapfrog ahead in time. Basically, time travel into the future.

Don;t forget to add the effect of increased velocity.

Well, that's old-ish, most people know about it.

I just seriously found out about this earlier today.

then to colonize space we need a high-gravity ship and a low gravity transprt

I wonder if I can sell mountain real estate on the prospect of longer days and an increased life span.

It's that older twin thing, isn't it?
Like if we sent GMG into space for some years, he'd be younger than GM_k after he comes back

It wouldn;t really change your age by more than a few minutes.

What if we sent him REALLY far into space for a long time?

At that point the bending of space time would decrease thus decreasing the effect.
If you want to slow down time get a really fast space ship

Realistically, yes. But if you skimmed a superdense object, you'd be far older.

Proximity to black holes is dangerous to your health and neutron stars are only slightly less kind by only trying to cook you with microwaves.

Well obviously if we're able to get close enough to a black hole without being crunched, we'd have adequate shielding

    ee...what? Why black?
I don't see how it would be any better than green or blue AND you'd probably just burn
