Do you guys REALLY want to secede from the Union. If so then I have officially cemented the idea the the South is the wackiest place in all of the United States

From what I've looked up, it's the Texas Secession Movement that wants Texas to secede and not the entire state itself. An article said up to 18% of Texans back the TSM's platform though I don't know how reliable that statistic is.

Personally I think secession is a stupid idea and that it reeks of misinformed and shortsighted thought.

But of course this thread is going to descend into a 'Post Your Best Stupid Texan Jokes' thread.

    I support it.

Then I can say I'm not in the same country as Texans.

Texas never could secede from the USA though.Even if they tried first they'd have to thin of hos to survive economically. Then they'd have to worry about troops being sent at them saying, "Get your a$$ back here!"

And the rest of the world won't have to worry about crazy punishments in America anymore. Or are there still other states with the death centence? To lazy to keep track of all that. Enough weird stuff going on here. -Geert Wilders wants to make part 2 of that Fitna movie. Sick racistic politician.-

I think there are still some states that have the death sentence, I know North Carolina still does, we just have the problem that the law says a doctor has to do it and all doctors in the state refuse because of their oath to save lives and not end them.

That is really crafty of them, and so is this:
Technically. But we all know he aims at all non-Dutch people. The whole country is ****ed if he gets any kind of power after the next elections. Oh well, at least he will probably not chicken out when they have to decide on building new nuclear power plants. They -current government- have been postponing that decicion for ages now.

Damn Dutch and their dirty, dastardly denominations.

I say we let Texas go. It solves half of the cartel problem and it leaves room to let Puerto Rico in!

Puerto Rico doesn't want to become a state. I heard before that they vote on it once in awhile and every time they choose to stay just a providence of the USA

I think it's great that he is making part 2 of Fitna. It is only showing the world the truth which practically everyone turns a blind eye on. The claims of racism have no grounds as Islam is not a race, however it is funny to see how many people associate it as a race.

    BACK TO TOPIC:

Texas, if it ever does secede, would probably be better off alone anyway. Economically, Texas is sound as it has Texas Instruments, Dell, etc. etc. Take a look at Wikipedia's article about Texas's economy (Yeah, I know... Wikipedia right?) However it should be the goal of the Union itself to make sure to keep Texas in. If it were to secede and eject itself from the Union, it would be a major loss of military material, income, and ten gallon hats!

Texas is an integral part of the United States and the loss of it would echo throughout the other states in the Union. For those of you who would be glad if Texas seceded, shame on you!

    NOW TO PUERTO RICO'S STATEHOOD:

Sure the notion has been tossed around about statehood for island territories but does it do any good for the United States? There is a reason the statehood legislation has failed time and time again. Also it should be noted that the main language of Puerto Rico is Spanish and a good number of people do not speak English well, we would have to spend millions in translation. Take Canada's Quebec for example..

Already millions in the USA speak Spanish. Heck many jobs are making it a requirement that we learn to speak Spanish. Many places turned me away because I can only read and understand Spanish and not speak it. It's weird too how I can hear it and know what they are saying, plus read it as if it's written in English, but I can't speak a word of it. Of course that's not as weird as how I catch myself thinking in German sometimes. Of course I digress.

Do you know how many riots and other bad stuff causes? Hundreds of people who only had the name Wilders got beat up. It turns good people into loonatics. I have no knowledge of where you live, but there is more to it then they show on cnn. And everybody here knows that he constantly bashes foreighners. He just uses their religion to go around racism laws. -since laws on religion are pretty much meaningless here lately-

Anyaway, wikipedia sucks most of the time, but I doubt that there are no experts who keep an eye on pages like those. If you want to be really sure, use the CIA Worl Factbook. I used it many times in the past for making essays. I can think of no other site with more acurate statistics then that one.

About the Spanish language: is it hard to learn? It sounds really hard to me. Never really tried it. -to focussed on English, German and French, in that order-

Not at all. I slept through all of Spanish class though I can still understand basic sentences. Plus there are many words that look like their English counterparts.

Really when I was 9 I said I wanted to become a professional gamer. Spanish came up because Imagine mentioned that one reason Puerto Rico doesn't want to join the USA because they speak a spanish, most of them.
