If you found a 20 dollar bill on the floor, what would you do with it?

What what would you do if you found a twenty dollar bill on the ground? Would you return it, keep it, or do something else? I will try to be as specific as I can with the options. Also, if none of these suit you... just vote to the closest or don't vote at all and don't gripe about how my options sucked, just say what you would have done.

The reason I ask is, today I found a twenty dollar bill on the ground and I picked it up. I looked around, and saw two people next to me so I quickly picked up the money... However the two people next to me don't really look like the type to be carrying around money, so I had quickly picked it up off the floor and put it into my pocket, trying to be casual. Well, I do feel a bit guilty for not giving it to a teacher, since I was in school, but I am now twenty dollars richer.

There should be an 'other' option whenever you do these types of polls. I would pick it up then look around with it in my hand to see if anyone notices they're missing it, if not i would just keep it.

 

See if it's been dropped recently, see if the owner is still around, if none of those... I'd keep it.

I would ask, but not so straightforwardly. I would ask if anyone lost money, and if they can't get the amount correct I would keep it.

 

That's probably the smartest way of doing it, if you planned on handing it over. Though most people would say 20 dollars first anyway.

If I actually seen someone drop it, then I would just give it to that person. Otherwise, I stick to my first post.

anyway i would usually find myself heading to it, picking it up, look around to see if anyone was looking on the ground for something, and if not then i would pocket it and use it on a rainy day.

 

If I had no idea whose is it, I'd take it. If, for example, I was sure it's someone from my class I'd probably ask if someone lost money. Never include the actual ammount in your question, it's a surefire way to never find out who it really was.

Kurai, you just reminded me about the time my older brother left his Gameboy SP in the movie theaters. When we got back home he noticed it was missing and called the theater and requested that he be contacted if they found it. They never called back... I wonder what happened to it...

I would leave it on the floor then wait for someon to come try and pick it up, at that point i would scream: NO ITS MINE! and they would say sorry and i would say goodbye, put it back on the ground again and wait for the next to come by.

 

I'd just take it and put it in my pocket if I didnt see anyone around me drop it. Jesus Christ.
