Instant messaging...help!

    During gameplay I often get instant messages from my opponent yet for the life of me I cannot figure out how to respond. The chat icon on the lower right hand of the screen seems to only connect you with friends from your profile. Any help would bee greatly appreciated.

    just press enter or enter+shift(for all chat)
