What truely matters? The interpretation or the intended message / idea? Should the intended message be specifically made to meet the expectations and interpretations of its audience, or should the maker truely stick and hope with his intended meaning regardless of how it will be interpreted? Is the cost of wrong interpretations worth the continuation and containment of its proper message - even if the maker is the only one to truely understand?

I dunno - its been bugging me lately.

Dont let the lack of context here put you off though.

It depends on your purpose. You don't take the audience into account when you want to express yourself as truthfully as possible and when you want to restrict the message to the few who think or feel in a similar way as you.

Agreed with Kuvasz. There are times you need to truly express yourself, and not care what others say. and there are times there are rules and regulations, standards that must be met or there are consequences. It depends on the purpose, as kuv said. and the place, too. that old proverb 'there's a time and place for everything'

Usualy, i just say what needs to be said and to hell with the consequences. Sometimes, you just have to say something about one of your friends that will piss them off, but they need to ****ing hear it and get over it.

If you were only ever going to understand the true meaning of the message, and those you show it to interpret it in a manner that causes more suffering than benefit. Do you still release such a message?

That is a very good question you put out there but I think it would be most beneficial to understand the true meaning of the message. That is one of the purposes of language, so we can better communicate our ideas to one another.

After all, reality is only as real as your mind tells you it is. I do however believe it is important to express, and think for yourself while taking in others ideas.
