Mine keeps crashing 1 second after seeing that planet thing. :/

Seriously, it's not getting past 1 second of showing that planet after the loading screen.

Why can't anybody at least tell here if they can still play? >_<

I just got my Beta key and I can't even get the game to run yet, I'm stuck downloading patch 9 over and over and over and over. I'd like to hear when someone gets this working. Waited so long for that key just for this torture! =(

I can't even post on the official forum about this, because I can't make a starcraft 2 account. You need to start the game for that. :/

I am no longer caught in that infinite patch loop, but now when I start the game and click connect a few seconds pass by; then I see a message essentially saying "either Battlenet is down or your connection is broken" - and my connection is certainly not broken.

I'm sure Blizzard is trying to fix the multitude of problems patch 9 caused but they must have missed something fairly big to have caused all these issues lol. I just wish the "latest news" section on the Starcraft 2 Beta forums was more updated. Even to say something like, "we are aware of the internet connection issues and are working on the problem" - any update would be nice.

Well I don't even get to see any kind of menu at all. Only 1 second of that planet with some music or sound stuff, then it crashes.

From what I've heard it seems that people are experiencing a whole range of issues. Unfortunately, all we can do is sit tight.

So I just start the game from time to time and hope that some patch pops up before it loads?
Or do we have to install it over and over again? :/

I had crashes like you did all day ... then I decide to fiddle around with my hardware configuration. I found that disabling my soundblaster audigy card fixed everything.

You might want to try something similar. Apparently, their new voice chat technology is screwy with many cards.

Also, I HAD NO IDEA YOU WERE IN BETA!!! YOU AND ME 1V1 NOW!!!

I'm ranked 9th in my platinum division so I'm sure I can be worth your time.

I only just found my key here 1,5 days ago. /cower

Anyways, I'm gonna try that card thingy.
Edit: where do I do that? :p

    Also: I don't even have a separate sound card. I think. o_O

Disabling all sound devices in the hardware tab did nothing, except for removing my pc's capability to play sound. Beta still won't get further then a flash of the planet thing after the loading screen.

If it comforts you, I'm having the same issue. I thought it was related to my friend offering a fix to patch the game by removing \StarCraft II Beta\Support\realmlist.stf to being able to patch, but unless you've done it - it probably is not that.

    What happened to me was:
    1) I removed it
    2) I patched the game
    3) It showed me the login screen, but upon login told me I had the wrong version
    4) I then found out that it had patched the game with the US patch instead of the euro patch
    5) I then continued to uninstall the game
    6) I reinstalled from scratch, no help there.
    7) I removed the game again - this time I went through registry with regedit to remove EVERYTHING. I also removed the SC2 folders under My Documents and Program Data to be certain.
    8) I then reinstalled again, getting the same result: It flashes the planet thingie and crashes.
    9) I can't even post about it to Blizzard yet because I have my Beta key stored on my other comp which I can't access now, so I can't post my configuration info or the problem to the official forums - EU asks for the CD-key while the US server does not which is weird.

Would somebody be kind enough to do that and post the link to the thread here?

But it's safe to assume that my friend's "fix" didn't screw up my system, amirite?

But the little information to gather from this is however that:

The US patch (which was delivered before) did NOT crash before the login was displayed

Hmmm, that sucks. Whenever you get it fixed, you and me really to need to game. Don't let the rank fool you. I still have a lot to learn. I just said that in case you were a high rank that you wouldn't think I wasn't worth the time which is often to happen in other communities.

Hey Aurora, could you post your device configuration? Maybe we can find a common denominator there. Here's mine (from the Beta Opt-in @ Battle.net account management). If there's nothing common in these, I'm sure we can indulge deeper as well. (And yea, this is Vista)

It finally started to patch again, but now it's kinda stuck on downloading by 0.10.0.14803 towards 0.11.0.15097.
It thinks I'm behind some firewall suddenly.

I did get exactly the same problem yesterday night, I just see the planet for one second and nothing more. Windows tells me that SC2 has stopped to work... This morning my computer runs badly. Maybe a coincidence...Oh my computer just starts correctly fter six tries. SC2 patchs. Hope no more problems because it did not start very well.:(
