I have an ATI Radeon 4830 and I used to play WoW and in Dalaran I would run at about 60-80 FPS ( For those who don't play wow Dalaran is like the most crowded area always filled with people so saying I run X amounf of FPS in Dal is kinda like the way to know how good your card is and how you will run throughout the rest of the world) In SC2 in a regular match I am only running like 30-40 and late game sometimes drop to 25.. I know my card isn't the newest card but its still a good card.. Is this game really more intense then WoW?
yes, WoW is quite old for the video game industry. Since graphic technology moves at such a raid pace you need to upgrade every couple or so years to be able to run the new stuff.
Yeah I know that WoW is older but still WoW always has so much more stuff on screen then SC2.. I guess its because SC2 stuff actually looks good over WoW even though it has more on screen.
The reason that WoW lags in crowded areas, is because its programming is messed up. Newer online games with more information being transfered don't suffer from this stuff. Anyways: yes, Starcraft II is more graphics (and processor) intensive then World of Wacraft. Kinda hoping for WoWs graphical update in the next expansion pack to be big enough to require a bit of a more powerful system with everything set on ultra, but that's probably just wishful thinking.
Yeah probally in the next year I will get a new graphics card.. I mean I am running them on Ultra so I can't really complain right? xD
