Can't play it at the moment though, unfortunately I can't download files of 4 GB at my current location.

Do you think I'll be able to run the beta on minimum settings with these specs?

    # Operating system:Windows 2.6.0.6000 ()
    # CPU type:AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual-Core Processor TK-55
    # CPU Speed (GHz):1.82
    # System memory (GB):1.748
    # Graphics card model:NVIDIA GeForce 7000M / nForce 610M
    # Graphics card driver:nvd3dum.dll
    # Desktop resolution:1440x900
    # Hard disk size (GB):51.144
    # Hard disk free space (GB):3.173

Hope to see you soon on Bnet!

    Here is mine:
    # Operating system:Windows 2.6.0.6001 (SP 1)
    # CPU type:Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T8300 @ 2.40GHz
    # CPU Speed (GHz):2.421
    # System memory (GB):2.999
    # Graphics card model:NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS
    # Graphics card driver:nvd3dum.dll
    # Desktop resolution:1440x900
    # Hard disk size (GB):116.442
    # Hard disk free space (GB):17.144

I play it on medium (standard) without any kind of lag, so if you do it on minimum, you should be fine.
But i aint so much into computer specs that i can say something precise.
    Congratz with the beta!

Thanks! Your specs are way better than mine though..

Is medium the highest setting you can play on?

It will lag a little if i have high or ultra, without i actually can see any difference in graphics :) thats why i play on medium.
Got the minimum specs from SKgaming:
    • Windows XP SP3/Vista SP1/Windows 7
    • 2.2 Ghz Pentium IV or equivalent AMD Athlon processor
    • 1 GB system RAM/1.5 GB for Vista and Windows 7
    • 128 MB NVidia GeForce 6600 GT/ATI Radeon 9800 PRO video card
    • 1024x768 minimum display resolution
    • 4 GB free hard space (Beta)
    • Broadband connection

As far as i can see, you will be good to go when you clear some space for the game.
    Good luck playing!

You dont need an super PC.
    I have:
    Windows 7
    3.0 ghz duo core E8400
    4 GB RAM
    Nvidia 9800 gtx+

And I run on ultra settings with no lag at all. This build costed me 600 euro's. I build the pc from scrap. It's a bit aged, could use a quad core but whatever.

Processor is fine but our graphics card is crap. Luckily, StarCraft 2 isn't very graphical especially on low settings. I bet you'll probably want to play on Low even if your card and do a bit better because it'll slow down when you have a lot of units.

So I have played my first two placement watches, won both. Some thoughts:

All the settings are on low, but the game is still laggy. When you click units there is a small delay.
My APM averages 25, yes, 25 :D. My opponents 90 so I don't have a clue what theyre doing and still losing the game.

I won my first match by a ball of MMMs. The second game I won with 4 reapers and not losing any units. The weird thing is that I destroyed his main nexus and then apparently he has his natural expo up and running with like 6 gateways and yet he resigned. Weird.

Regarding barracks and its addons. There's this addon that allows you to build 2 units at once, but you can only use this on marines since you require the different addon for the other units? Its a bit odd, wouldnt simply building two barracks be a better investment than 1 barracks with that two-build-at-once addon?

Well if you want to rush tier 1 building 2 barracks with with the build 2 units at once thing would rock. Totally designed for tier 1 rushing

Or you could build it and just fly the barracks between both the 2 different addons when you needed them. That would work too.
