I know I haven't been on much, but I've been busy with schoolwork, and a few personal problems. Today, i just had surgery, too. Sorry for my absence a lot, this site hates me even when i have time to get on. and not a lot has been happening ehre, anyway.

Operation for those who don't know: removal of all four impacted wisdom teeth; two top, two bottom
time of surgery: 8:30 AM friday morning (Oct 9, 2009)
Time ended: 10:40 AM the same day

laughing gas makes you feel weird. When my bro had two of his wisdom teeth taken out he said it felt like he was lighter and that it was cool. It took it forever to take affect on me, but when it did i felt dizzy, like voices were more distant and my own words seemed not to come from my mouth. i felt numb and spacey all over. i can't say it was bad. but i didn't really enjoy it. I can remember them putting the needle for fluids and the drugs in my arm. I remember coming out of it for a second with hands in my mouth but i didn't feel pain. Then i had a few more fleeting moments. I didn't even know the surgery was over until the doctor told me i was good to go and everything went perfect. They brought my rents in after and they took me home. Felt nauseous on the way back but i didn't throw up.

I retired to a couch in the living room, unable to feel my mouth. I still can't...over 4 hours later. My gums also continue to pour blood onto little gauze pads on both sides of my mouth that i have to change every 30 min. I also have to alternate an ice pack from side to side to keep down swelling. Swelling is kept down, but I can't sleep. Every time i manage to doze off i just have to be woken up again to change the gauze and adjust the stupid ice. Not to mention my body freaking hates painkillers. Had some ibuprofen while my dad went to pick up my meds. I just took some Vicoden about half an hour ago. It isn't doing anything. My mouth hurts like a ***** when I open it. I had to struggle to get a liquefied milkshake down (it had melted because my dad bought it for me right after the surgery but i wasn't up to it.) it's all i've eaten all day, and i just feel absolutely miserable. I'm exhausted and tired but can't sleep. I'm in moderate pain, because pain medicine never seems to work for me. I can't feel my mouth very mouth yet. My gums around the stitches are still bleeding profusely and i only have 4 gauze pads left. I didn't even feel this miserable after surgery on my leg. I can't sleep, I can't eat, I can't relax. I won't be able to eat anything solid for about 3 days, i think they said.

But, all in all, it was a success. They got them all removed and stitched up nicely, even though i can feel the tip sometimes stab my cheeks (they've regained feeling, just not my lips). they let me keep three of them, but not the forth because they had to break it into a lot of pieces to get it out. They didn't hit the nerve beneath the teeth on the lower jaw or puncture the sinus cavity getting the upper ones out. Here's to telling you all I'm not dead and onto my road to recovery and things turned out alright despite how I feel atm.

That sounds like you're not exactly having a good time. O_O
Hope you get well soon, Kurai. :)

And hey, it can always get worse. My grandparents had these metal things inserted into the bottem of their mouths. Something to keep their teeth in, lol. They could't eat properly for almost 2 weeks.

Also: good thing they didn't hit a nerve. I once fell of my bike and broke off my two front teeth on the upper side. They did this root canal thing with some sort of acid to clean everything. As it still wasn't numbed enough (after 8 freaking needles in my mouth), I could feel that acid stuff hitting the nerve. Gawd, it felt horrible. Almost hit the dentist in the face in a reflex. :/

I almost did the same when I had part of my thumb cut off, and the doctor was injecting **** into it.

Egh, wisdom teeth. I remember going to sleep, waking up, throwing up, then having frozen vegetables wrapped around my face. :(

I hope your mouth feels better soon, Kurai.

Why did they have to remove them? Mine are there and they don't bother.

Good to know surgery went fine. And hey, you can always eat lots of icecream :p

I hade my wisdom teeth taken out in july, although my teeth were different from the rest of my familys. How you ask? I had freaking seven wisdom coming in, appearantly somewhere in my genetic code my ancestors had them.

All in all though it wasn't to bad of an experiance. The pain only lasted for a couple days, i got a shot instead of laughing gas. The one thing i hated the most was the salt water rinse after every meal i had, that **** was nasty.
