Hey, Does anyone play dota? I wouldn't mind playing that with some of you guys! I am not too good at starcraft right now... been playing dota lots though!

I'm going to finish the single player missions first. When I do it will be on the European server though.

 

I am 10-Neon on USEast, I can open up an account on a different portal if you want me to. I don't do money maps, and I dislike playing the same maps over and over. If you want to contact me for a game, you can IM me (check my profile).

 

Anyone who knows about NAT configuration please post your advice. This could help alot of DSL users solve their battle.net lag problem. Check out these two links:

The only problems I have had being behind a router are hosting. I opened a few ports on the router and forwarded them to the comp I was playing SC on and all is well!

Forward Ports: 6113-6119, 4000, & 27960.

I can't speak from experience on lag problems with DSL as I have cable but I hope this helps someone out there. :good:

 

For a long time I had a lot of trouble hosting, but I eventually found out that logging off battle.net, then logging back on buys me a window of clean hosting. It's kind of funny: when I had dialup, I never had any trouble with battle.net, I just had slow downloads and uploads (never in-game lag). With DSL, my DL/UL improved, but with a storm of connection issues in their wake.

 

i run on an Ethernet Network all around my house. High Speed, but with all the junk on my comp, it slows down a lot. i am getting an Ipod video to store all my vids to free up like 10 gigs of space

 

so i still dunno if ANYBODY (besides zeratul ) who CURRENTLY plays starcraft @USWest. anyone wish to speak up? just for fun like ums rpgs =D or competitive if you want. just anybody!

 

I play on USWest the odd times, usually only when someone I know is on.

Yea I have all my media (video, music, program installs, downloads, etc) on a separate external hard drive, doesn't slow me down a bit. ^_^

 

I was wondering, I have NAT for the network at my house and my father doesn't want me to forward the necessary ports for Battle.net because he sees it as too much of a security risk, which I understand that it could possibly be. What other ways can I go about this issue. I currently run off a router which goes through to a hub to another 3 comps that share it. It is DSL from bell south and my router is Netopia. I heard that by buying a separate ip address for my computer could do the trick. Anyone have any advice?
