and lost one arm and one leg. Now, would you want someone to kill you, or try to save you? If you choose that they save you, they succeed (they won't fail at killing you, eighter ) And if they are to save you, you'll loose one arm and one leg, they won't be able to fix that. There will be pain, blood etc. but you'll live trough and go back home right after the fight. But execute you, will be smooth and painless, a bullet in the brain. Personnally I'd choose to live on. Everything is better than dying. This argumentation was evolved after seeing Saving private Ryan's first scene in school, if your'e interested, and I just want to see what you think.
This seems more like space junk material to me. But whatever. :/ I'm not really eager to choose between these options. Where's the "I whoop their asses" option? But seriously: watch Forrest Gump, then come back and post your thoughts again.
yes, but since it evolved into an serious discussion irl, it could do the same on teh interwebz and I've already seen Forrest (Who hasn't?)
Lounge? Seriously? But yes I would choose death. (if I could I would just try to hide behind something as far away from the action as possible and wait until its over)
I've thought about this for a bit more. My conclusion is that you cannot possibly be certain of what you would choose. Thinking about this behind your computer isn't the same as deciding this at a battlefield with screaming and dying people everywhere, while the blood prays out of your blown off limbs. That's basically what I meant to say with "watch Forrest Gump". The guy would have chosen death right then and there, but didn't think about it that way later. I know Forrest Gump is just a movie, but this just makes sense. At least to me.
First I would learn grammar and how to spell the word Normandy. I would choose life, I've been through some very tough situations and near death experiences in my life time more than a lot of people and it may sound cliche or chessy but its when you give up that you die. I live next to a military base and know a lot fo soldiers that have served or currently served and they would tell you to never give up no matter what. I know guys some older guys real older guys that still have sharpnel in them and parts of their leg blown off and they are still going. Also have you ever heard of that guy that professionally plays kendo with no legs, and is able to bet good fighters that have both their legs etc?
I think "The Things They Carried" puts it best. When the two men (names escape me...) make a blood pact that if one of them were to be wounded in a way that would leave them in a wheelchair for life to just end their life and save them the trouble. And when one of them got their legs blown into a sh*tstorm, he was begging his friend not to shoot him. Of course later he died from the bleeding and such, but it goes to show I doubt many people truly want to die even with such disabilities.
Well it depends, I doubt that i hold 2 limbs above my own life but the pain just following the event may give me a few minutes of suicidal thoughts...so i guess save but instinctively if i just got blown to bits i'd want the pain to stop quickly.
If it was D-Day, I would choose death, whether in battle or euthensia. In this day and age though, prosthetics are an 8 on the badassawesome scale, so it would be live. It's not the fact that I lost those limbs (though one arm would be difficult for my lifestyle), but the quality of life afterwards. Limited mobility, limited functionality, especially if I lost my dominant arm. I'd be worse if I went blind or deaf though. I'd be cool with being mute.
If I lost my tonsils or appendix in D-Day, I'd choose to live. But in all seriousness, I would continue to live on without an arm and a leg. HOWEVER, If I did lose a leg and arm during battle, I would probably think I was going to die and therefore fight until the end. Maybe jump on a grenade to save a buddy, and die anyway.
