What's your opinion of it? Is it for the most part useful, and trustable? Or is it just a miasma of bias and yellow journalism

well, it depends on the company, i trust the dutch official news on TV(though the new writer is kinda biased) and there are a number of newspapers that give the good idea instead of just spreading panic.

Not any single news company, no. I tend to look at a couple of different sites showing the same story, to see what's BS and what's not.

LOL trust media. Imagine that. For people to be content watching Fox News, it just goes to show.

People at the top of the pyramid control the media.

While they don't outright lie to you, they do bias their stories enough and leave out important facts to a point where situations seem different . they seem to think that not lying is the same thing as telling the truth.

The only use I have for newspaper is my chimney started for the grill. Otherwise I don't go near that bull****.

Depends on what news your looking at if its fox news then yes they tend to favor republicans more but most media is in favor of liberal ideas unless its a uncontrolled (personally owned) internet site.

I take everything I read with a grain of salt. Any news group can have errors or distort information so trusting only one is never a good idea. I usually read around, listen to different sides to the story, and try to figure out what is really going on. Google news aggregates a lot of sources on one story, which is quite helpful. Other times no reliable information can be found, so I am left guessing.

I don't completely distrust major networks: they are frequently reliable enough for me to get a gist of what is going on in the world.
