I started crying while playing cod4 yesterday -.-. People were calling each other noobs, they argued and argued over the game, clans claiming the other hacked - me trolling around both sides, laughing my ass off and having fun. Until eventually, as if by some global attunment, both sides fell quiet. One person kickstarted the empty chat by talking about how his dad was dead.. Another person opened up to the strangers residing in the game and started talking about how he served 6 years in the army and how he didnt enjoy it at all.. People didnt argue about **** from then on, they related to each other and the chat rose to a completely understanding and serious tone. And no - it wasnt some pool of object pity and sickening happy flower party peace at that point. It was just the game, it was just 2 or 3 people opening up over things they knew the others would understand. Hell - i even stopped trolling and spoke seriously >.<. Eventually everyone joined in, discussing matters from materialism to capitalism, not eveyone as informed as each other but nethertheless - everyone had something to say. From the smallest contribution to the most passionate rant, people bled their personality into the chat. But yeah, BOOM. all of a sudden i feel some twisted mix of happiness and start crying. Its probobly some kinda Man Period or wtf.
It goes to show you that while people can be capable of the most infuriating stupidity and hatred, so too can they be capable of kindness and intellect.
