First of all, to my opinion, I think that blizzard tried to make units that would be 'awesome' and would please the fans, instead of trying to make units that would fit with the original ideas of the first game.

What I miss are Goliaths, typical infantry-support mechs, not too big, but not too small aswell, Wraiths, standard Terran fighters, very useful, nice design.

    Battlecruiser

I like the new armements on the battlecruiser but the design kind of annoys me.

Here we have the classic Battlecruiser, looking nice and smooth, with some color to indicate the player while staying majorly metallic grey-like:

Now here we have the new Battlecruiser:

In my opinion, the new model's cannons sticking out is a bad idea, and I think there should be a little less color but just enough to indicate which player it belongs to.

    Ghost

    Rifle is too big.
Why do they have a big, unnessecary backpack, unlike the classical ghosts?

    Thor

Too big with countless cannons everywhere, looks like a robot toy, would have put it as a hero.

i agree with you on the thor, i think it never fitted the terran race

the ghost should look way cooler indeed

but i think the battlecruiser is cooler, it actually gives a more terran feel than the old one

I too think the new Battlecruiser look is much cooler, especially how one can tell whether it has Plasma Torpedoes or Yamato Cannon simply by looking at it.

I agree that the Ghost should look a little cooler, and I believe that Blizzard has even acknowledged this, so we probably will see a change.

As far as the Thor goes, I am going to disagree with both of you. I think it looks pretty sweet and does fit the Terran race. Having to build it directly on the battlefield is awesome. My only complaint about it is that it may overlap with the Siege Tank a little bit, but again I think Blizzard is working to correct the issue.

Battlecruiser is fine by me, it just doesn't look like a capital ship, more of a big gun.

Ghost, I don'tlike this design... too blocky and looks like Spiderman in a white suit plus the backpack is unnessesary and the rifle is much to large as stealth units need as less armaments as possible, hense stealth.

I have no problem with the Thor but from what I've seen on the gameplay vids it gets built very fast which doesn't fit in... maybe its just to preview the unit they will probably make the build a little slower I hope.

Oh yea as for the Goliaths it doesn't bother me that its been replaced, I think the Viking is much better since you can adapt its abilities to your style of play and its cheap, plus it emphasizes the Terrans versitility being able to adapt to all situations presented.

battlecruiser - looks nice, specially at the back where you can see a yellow line, maybe its the cockpit. to big? making the bc small overall, its in game anyway..

ghost - make the backpack and gun smaller.

thor - its TERRAN what do you think the army or marine ground vehicle will be like in the future? still tanks? no. mechs or robots. xp

FYI Zergalicious, in all of the Blizzard demo videos the designers have things programmed differently in order to show things off. For instance, I imagine that the Thor build speed we saw will be approximately equal to the speed with the cheat on. Of course they wouldn't want the audience to sit through a whole Thor being built at regular speed.

BC has no cocpit it has a bridge. And yes, the elevated part in the back is it. It becomes clear when in the campaign preview they look out of the window.

I agree with you on the ghost, along with the rest of the world apparently. If Blizzard doesn't change it, I'll be scratching my head.

Battlecruiser: Great as it is. It looks much better than the old BC and the visual indication on the upgrade is really cool.

Ghost: yeah, this is the one unit that has a bad model. I'd rather them get rid of the big red eye for green and make the color black. Otherwise it's good. I like the big gun. It looks more powerful than their old wimpy gun.

Thor: Doesn't fit in with the terrans? I have to disagree with you there. The thor is the embodiment of terran: big, bulky, not really efficient but tough and strong.

I think the new BC looks much better than the original. The new detail makes it look much more realistic.

The ghost looks pretty good. The gun does look too long and the backpack does seem too big, but I still like it more than the original.

Thor needs less guns, it has many guns that it doesn't use. Also, it sticks out too much when with the other terran units.

    the new bc looks sick
it looks wayyyyyy much better than the original

the thor is looking good but when it uses the bombardment attack thing, there should be bullets that show up

ghost looks horrible...they should look like ghosts that look like the profile in sc1

The Thors movement is kinda sucky, doesn't seem very heavy, they should emphasize its weight making each step impact the ground harder than they do and maybe kick up dust. Or have a slight pause on each step.

Agreed with your Ghost statement. Why are they carrying such a huge back-pack? And why are their rifles soo big?
They are suppose to be powerful and stealthy units. But they don't look like that. Infact, they look like heavy-units.

The Battlecruiser in general is fine maybe make the yamato a little smaller but not much.

As for the Ghost I find it amussing that everyone thinks they don't look stealthy. Does the Dark Templar look stealthy in its armor? The reason they are stealthy isnt because of their looks its because they literally cant be looked at, they are invisible they could be wearing hot pink and be dressed like a fairy it wouldnt change whether or not they could be seen.

I absolutely dissagree witht the OP on the Thor. In my opinion the Thor is the avatar of the Terrans. Its bulky, its slow, and it has chock full of guns wiht the thickest armor possible how is that not Terran?

In my opinion, the Terran's were always were marked by adaptablity. You were well equiped to deal with many, many situations with the Terrans. Nearly all of the units had multiple uses. I don't think the Thor fits in well with that. It just seems to me like it's little more than a sponge.

    Just my opinion though.

So...how is this helpful? It seems to me like this was a thread of you just complaining...
You know Starcraft doesn't have WC3 style heroes. Just becasue a unit is "big" doesn't have it a hero, its the characters roles in the story that make them "heroes".

As for the Ghost, they are staying true to the original concpt art. Its Samwise's style, i think its bad ass.

I agree with both DarkTemlol and LordKerwyn about the Thor. Yes the Terran's are adaptable, yet they are also gritty and industrial. The Thor is big, its got guns, and i think it's adaptability is that it can be built anywhere.

Chax, if people didn't complain, we would still be stuck with the old, dinky Siege tank model that they first had. Because of people giving thier feedback, it's been changed to something better. I like these threads, because I want to hear all opinions. And I think he was dead on for most of them.

And at anyrate, I think you misread my post. I was saying how The Thor wasn't adaptable, and doesn't fit with the Terran playstyle.
