one of my friends received a beta key while i was at work one day... unfortunatley my other 2 friends that play starcraft happen to be in the room with him when he opened the email so i missed out. Well you can preorder SC2 and get a key that way. That's how I got my key. Anyways the key if you get one will be useful for a little over 2 months only. Then you'll have to buy SC2. And that preorder means you don't have wait with the hordes in line to purchase SC2. You will know your copy is safely in the store's back cupboard waiting for you anytime to come and pick it up.
Well all the WoW betas have gone till 1 day before the retail release. But I agree with you we just do not know if the SC2 beta will be the same as the WoW betas or not. And on a site note. Woot to us both for having awesome quotes on our forum signatures.
